Silver Axe approached John and glanced at the contents of the treasure map, voicing his doubts. "Say, is it possible... that this treasure map is fake?!"
"Was it made to lure whoever found it into this Sea of Death and cost them their lives?"
Although the treasure map looked rather old, who knew whether it was genuine or not?
Perhaps it was simply an old fake!
"It can't be wrong!" Captain John stubbornly retorted. "When it comes to treasure maps, nobody is better than me. This treasure map is definitely not fake."
He was something of an authority in this field.
Captain John was the man most obsessed with treasure maps. Everyone in the Rocks Pirates knew his hobbies were fine wine and treasure maps.
Ochoku walked up to John. "Since we've already reached the location indicated by the treasure map, yet there's nothing here, how do you explain that?"
Captain John looked blankly at the scene before him, opened and closed his mouth, then continued staring fixedly at the treasure map in his hand, trying to find a clue within it.
"The location indicated by the treasure map can't be wrong, but why has the island disappeared...? The island is gone."
He kept muttering, "The island is gone."
He looked up at the sky, then at the sea, and made a decision. "Wait for me here. I'm going into the sea to take a look."
He had always believed that the treasure map could not be wrong.
Seeing how determined Captain John was, Ochoku spoke up. "We have at most one day. If we can't find it within that time, we'll have to leave."
"Mm." Captain John nodded, handed the treasure map to Ochoku, and instructed him, "Keep this treasure map safe. I'm going down to take a look."
