Victor walked up to the prison cell, staring at Roger with an expressionless face.
"It seems I've disappointed you."
Victor said this to Roger.
At that, Roger smiled instead. "This is our first time meeting, right?"
"Yes." Victor took a cigarette from his pocket and lit it. He said calmly, "I considered seeking you out before and defeating you."
"Hahaha."
Roger burst into laughter after hearing this.
He did not mean to look down on Victor.
Victor had defeated Golden Lion in a one-on-one battle.
That was enough to prove Victor's strength.
At barely over twenty years old, he certainly had the capital to be proud.
"However, after thinking it over, I decided to hold back."
Victor paused for a moment, then took a deep drag. "Although defeating you would bring me tremendous prestige, it would be limited to that."
Roger looked at Victor curiously.
Victor's words were filled with absolute confidence.
He sounded as if defeating Roger were only natural.
"Now that you put it that way, I do feel it would be a shame."
Roger chuckled. "If we had met earlier, it would have been fun to fight you."
Fighting, adventuring, feasting, drinking, and so on.
Everything was supposed to be fun to Roger.
Even when facing death, he would meet it with a smile.
"It is a bit of a shame." Victor nodded lightly. "A man acknowledged by the strongest people in the world—if I defeated you, I would be recognized as the strongest man in the world."
"You pursue fame too much," Roger said with a smile.
Victor said, "Everyone has something they want. Take you, for example. You don't have much time left, yet you still want to overturn the world."
Upon hearing this, the smile vanished from Roger's face, replaced by a serious expression.
