Chapter Summaries

Rodney used Reiju and Conner to seize a Marine warship and force Fleet Admiral Sengoku into negotiations with the Five Elders. The standoff ended with Kuzan taking Reiju hostage, but she escaped his ice, and Conner attacked him with an arrow.

• Rodney’s clone took Reiju and Conner by sea, and Reiju’s poisonous mist incapacitated most of the Marines aboard a warship.
• Rodney demanded that Kuzan contact Fleet Admiral Sengoku so he could negotiate with the Five Elders and warn them against attacking Aviledon again.
• Kuzan told Sengoku that Rodney’s forces had defeated the Marines and captured Vice Admiral Tsuru, Strobbery, and Kashou.
• When Sengoku resisted Rodney’s demands, Rodney threatened to make Reiju turn the poison lethal, prompting Kuzan to freeze her and seize her as a hostage.
