Chapter Summaries

After learning that BIG MOM had joined Kaido in Onigashima, Rodney prepared for the coming battle and asked Bullet to hold BIG MOM back. As Bullet taught him advanced Armament Haki, Rodney quickly worked out his own way to use Emission and sent Shadow Clones to practice it.

• A Shadow Clone reported that BIG MOM had moved into Onigashima with her sons and subordinates and joined forces with Kaido.
• Bullet arrived in Wano the day before Fire Festival Night, and Rodney asked him to fight BIG MOM during the battle.
• Rodney asked Bullet to teach him Emission, then used his Byakugan to observe Bullet and release Haki through his Chakra points.
• Rodney created Shadow Clones to practice Emission while asking Bullet to teach him internal destruction.
• Bullet began instructing Rodney in internal destruction.

Rodney used Shadow Clones to learn the internal destruction application of Armament Haki, then rested and prepared to attack Onigashima with his allies. As Kaido and BIG MOM celebrated their newly announced alliance, King reported that Rodney had arrived.

• Rodney used hundreds of Shadow Clones to accelerate his Haki training, then recovered from the resulting exhaustion with food and sleep.
• Nagato, Konan, and Itachi wore black robes with red clouds for their entrance, and Rodney reluctantly accepted one too.
• Rodney and his group sailed the Black Pearl through the snow toward Onigashima while Kin'emon and the other samurai took a separate route after Momonosuke killed Kanjuro at Kozuki Oden's grave.
• Kaido and BIG MOM announced their alliance, drawing worldwide attention and prompting comparisons to Rocks.
• King told Kaido that Rodney had arrived, silencing the alliance's banquet.

Rodney and Nagato attacked Onigashima with a Tailed Beast Bomb, but BIG MOM intercepted it with an Elbaf Spear, causing a huge explosion and tsunami. As the enemy forces responded, King flew toward them and Nagato spotted another flame-bearing figure approaching.

• At the banquet, King warned that Rodney’s strength was unknown, while BIG MOM mounted Zeus and flew out to confront him.
• Rodney and Nagato summoned the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path and prepared a Tailed Beast Bomb aimed at Onigashima’s entrance.
• Seeing BIG MOM approach through the clouds, Rodney told Nagato to raise the attack’s angle, and Nagato fired the Tailed Beast Bomb at her.
• BIG MOM ordered Zeus to retreat and struck the bomb with Elbaf Spear: Ikoku, triggering a massive explosion that sent a tsunami toward Onigashima.
• Perospero blocked the waves with candy, while King transformed into a flaming Pteranodon and flew toward Rodney and Nagato.

Rodney, Itachi, and Nagato fought King and the Beasts Pirates as they advanced on Onigashima. After Rodney struck King down with Kirin, the group broke through the island’s defenses and Rodney unleashed a Tailed Beast Bomb inside.

• Rodney and Itachi struck King with Amaterasu, but King endured the flames and charged at them until Nagato repelled him with Shinra Tensei.
• Itachi darkened the clouds with Fire Release, allowing Rodney to form a lightning Kirin that smashed King into Onigashima.
• Kaido ordered the Beasts Pirates to mobilize as Rodney and Nagato’s forces eliminated King’s Smile Users and advanced toward the island.
• Nagato summoned giant beasts to attack the inner bay’s batteries while Rodney smashed through Onigashima’s torii and fought his way inside.

Rodney battled Kaido, whose dragon defenses withstood most of his attacks, until Rodney wounded him with a Haki-infused sword strike. As Rodney’s allies fought on Onigashima, Katakuri faced Brulee and the furious BIG MOM.

• Kaido transformed into a dragon and clashed with Rodney, shrugging off his Tailed Beast Bomb, Spiraling Shuriken, and Susanoo attacks.
• Kaido absorbed Rodney’s Amaterasu flames and breathed them back at him, forcing Rodney to dismiss Susanoo and attack with his swords.
• Rodney cut Kaido’s scales with Sea Splitter, drawing blood and recognizing that the pain recalled Kozuki Oden’s old wound.
• King attacked Rodney to stop him from striking Kaido, while Rodney used the Substitution Technique to escape him.

BIG MOM attacked Katakuri for betraying the BIG MOM Pirates, while Douglas Bullet joined the fight against her. Itachi, Jiraiya, Nagato, and Konan trapped BIG MOM and Bullet inside a Four Red Yang Formation, leaving the two to battle within the barrier.

• BIG MOM wrapped her daughter in mochi and threw her away from the battlefield before charging forward.
• Douglas Bullet punched BIG MOM, and they traded insults about Roger, her Road Poneglyph, and Katakuri before fighting.
• Perospero tried to persuade Katakuri to return to the BIG MOM Pirates, but Katakuri warned that the battle had already begun and BIG MOM would not be able to join the fight against Rodney.
• Itachi, Jiraiya, Nagato, and Konan formed the Four Red Yang Formation around BIG MOM and Bullet, sealing its top to prevent her escape.
• Nagato summoned the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path, which supplied Chakra to the four casters as BIG MOM and Bullet prepared to fight inside the barrier.

Barrett and BIG MOM fought a devastating battle while Itachi and the Red Scabbards battled Kurozumi Orochi. As the Red Scabbards prepared to settle their grudge with Orochi, Inuarashi, Nekomamushi, and their Mink warriors transformed into Sulong beneath the full moon.

• Barrett traded powerful blows with BIG MOM, whose attacks with Zeus, Prometheus, and Napoleon met his Devil's Cannon.
• Itachi used genjutsu and shadow clones to defend the Four Red Yang Formation, then fought Kurozumi Orochi with Susanoo.
• Kin'emon and the Red Scabbards arrived and attacked Orochi, cutting down several of his serpent heads.
• Kin'emon told Itachi that Rodney was holding Kaido back and declared that the samurai would take on Orochi.
• Inuarashi, Nekomamushi, and the Mink warriors transformed into Sulong beneath the full moon, readying themselves for battle.

Rodney unleashed his Sage Art: Wood Release: True Several Thousand Hands against Kaido, but Kaido survived the assault and counterattacked. After Kaido tried to recruit him, Rodney refused and declared that their battle would end only with one of them dead.

• Rodney restrained Kaido with torii gates and wooden hands, then summoned the towering Great Buddha and pounded Kaido with its many fists.
• Kaido survived the barrage, blasted apart part of the Buddha’s face with Heat Breath, and attacked Rodney with elemental techniques.
• Rodney blocked Kaido’s wind blades with Triple Rashomon as both fighters returned to face each other.
• Kaido offered Rodney a place at his side and promised they could conquer the world together.
• Rodney rejected Kaido’s offer, said he wanted world peace, and prepared to fight to the death.
• Kaido angrily swung his spiked club at Rodney.

Rodney fought Kaido in a brutal contest of strength, using ninjutsu and a collapsing battlefield to gain an advantage. He left Kaido pinned beneath the True Several Thousand Hands’ palm and submerged in seawater, which weakened Devil Fruit users.

• Kaido and Rodney clashed with their Haki and pressure, then traded blows until Kaido’s Thunder Bagua sent Rodney flying.
• Rodney refused Kaido’s offer to join his crew and used Explosive Tags, but Kaido emerged unharmed and challenged him to fight again.
• Rodney and Kaido battled with raw strength until the ground split and seawater flooded the crater.
• Rodney used a Water Dragon Bullet to buy time, then deployed a Wood Dragon, Wood Golem, and the True Several Thousand Hands.

Rodney and Kaido continued their battle on Onigashima as Rodney used powerful Wood, Fire, and Storm techniques while disguising himself as Jack to stab Kaido. The battle left the island shrouded in poisonous smoke and mist, and Kaido kept searching for the real Rodney amid repeated decoys.

• Jack and Queen smashed the wooden statue trapping Kaido, allowing him to transform and attack Rodney.
• Rodney struck Kaido with a Storm Release technique, but Kaido recovered and began a stronger round of fighting.
• Rodney filled Onigashima with a poisonous, burning forest, incapacitating many fighters across the battlefield.
• Rodney used the mist to impersonate Jack and stab Kaido twice, but Kaido healed and struck the disguised clones away.
• Kaido cleared some of the mist and saw Jack fighting the Mink Tribe's kings before another Jack appeared beside him, prompting Kaido to smack him.

Rodney fought Kaido after tricking him with a disguise and launching a powerful combined ninjutsu. As Kaido went berserk, Rodney blocked his next attack with a skeletal arm and vowed to survive.

• Rodney disguised himself as Jack, fooled Kaido, and laughed with Nekomamushi and Inuarashi before Kaido crushed the wooden decoy.
• Rodney unleashed a Super Tailed Beast Rasenshuriken infused with Amaterasu, struck Kaido with a Knight Kick, and sent him crashing to the ground.
• Rodney and Kaido traded Tempest Kicks and Haki-coated punches, both suffering cracked bones and bleeding from their mouths.
• Kaido went berserk and attacked Rodney, who blocked one punch with a skeletal arm and declared that he would not die before creating his own grand finale.

Rodney and Kaido fought through the night, then continued their battle on an uninhabited island while the fighters on Onigashima prepared to bring down the Four Red Yang Formation. Itachi attacked Kurozumi Orochi with Susanoo, Amaterasu, and Tsukuyomi, trapping him in an illusion.

• Rodney and Kaido battled across Onigashima, then rose into the sky and continued fighting on an uninhabited island.
• Itachi ordered the Four Red Yang Formation dispelled after Rodney had drawn Kaido away, and Nagato told Bullet he could fight freely.
• The Akazaya samurai fought Kurozumi Orochi, Nekomamushi and Inuarashi fought Jack, and Reiju held back the BIG MOM Pirates with poisonous mist.
• Itachi joined the samurai and attacked Kurozumi Orochi with his Complete-Body Susanoo and Totsuka Blade.
• Itachi burned Kurozumi Orochi with Amaterasu, then trapped him in Tsukuyomi.

Itachi let Kin'emon and the other Scabbards avenge Oden by killing Kurozumi Orochi, then sealed Orochi in the Totsuka Blade to suffer eternal torment. As Kaido continued to outlast Rodney, Rodney opened the Gate of Death and launched a desperate final attack.

• Itachi yielded Kurozumi Orochi to Kin'emon and the Scabbards, who cut off his eight heads and pierced his heart.
• Itachi sealed Kurozumi Orochi with the Totsuka Blade and said Orochi would remain trapped in a world shaped by his greatest fear until the seal was released or his soul wore away.
• The Scabbards turned to help fight the Tobiroppo and the Bringers of Death as Rodney clashed with Kaido.
• Rodney replaced his right eye with a Three Tomoe Sharingan and ordered everyone to retreat before opening the Gate of Death.
• Rodney charged Kaido at incredible speed and punched him in the face.

Rodney used Night Guy to devastate Kaido, but the attack left Rodney apparently dead and Kaido badly injured. Rodney revived himself with Izanagi, leaving Kaido facing him again as the chapter ended.

• Rodney activated the Eight Inner Gates and launched Night Guy at Kaido, smashing his kanabō and sending him through Onigashima.
• BIG MOM and Bullet stopped fighting to watch Rodney and Kaido battle, while Rodney’s allies rushed to his side after the attack.
• Nagato warned that Rodney’s Chakra was rapidly fading, and Itachi examined him with one of Rodney’s Mangekyō Sharingan.
• Kaido rose from the ruins despite losing his right arm and suffering severe injuries, then declared that he had won by surviving.
• Rodney reappeared unharmed through Izanagi, which Itachi explained had rewritten Rodney’s death at the cost of blinding the Sharingan used for the technique.

Rodney used Izanagi to recover from a fatal injury, then pinned Kaido with sealing gates and Seastone chains before killing him with Shusui. After completing his mission, Rodney turned his attention to BIG MOM, who ordered her crew to retreat.

• Rodney revived at full health with Izanagi, replaced his damaged Sharingan with the eye Itachi had given him, and faced the badly wounded Kaido.
• Rodney used Amaterasu, a wood substitution, and the Gate of the Great God to restrain Kaido, then bound him with Seastone chains from Kaido's treasury.

Rodney rejected BIG MOM’s proposal and exposed her distrust of her children as she tried to bring Katakuri home. Katakuri left the BIG MOM Pirates to join Rodney, and BIG MOM departed after their confrontation, leaving Rodney relieved that he had avoided fighting another Yonko while injured.

• Rodney used Wood Release to kill pirates who had failed to retreat, then refused BIG MOM’s proposal.
• BIG MOM demanded that Katakuri and her other children return, but Rodney said they were helping rebuild Aviledon and Dressrosa.
• Katakuri removed his scarf, bid farewell to his mother, and announced that he was leaving the BIG MOM Pirates to join Rodney’s command.
• BIG MOM attacked Katakuri with Conqueror’s Haki, and Katakuri answered with his own before explaining that his mother had given him little beyond life.
• Rodney accused BIG MOM of treating Katakuri as a valuable subordinate and revealed that she had let him fight Bullet because either Rodney’s or Kaido’s death would benefit her.
• BIG MOM left with Zeus after warning Katakuri not to cross her path again, and Rodney admitted he was too injured to face another Yonko.

After Rodney’s side defeated the Beasts Pirates, Rodney secured King’s surrender and captured Queen, Drake, and the Tobiroppo. With the fighting over, Wano’s people began rebuilding their rule under Shimotsuki Yasuie as shogun until Momonosuke was ready to take the position.

• Rodney extinguished the flames burning King, but King refused to join him and surrendered after Kaido’s death left him without a purpose.
• Rodney trapped the fleeing Queen with an Earth Release technique, then exposed Drake as a Marine spy and ordered the Scabbards to seize the Tobiroppo.
• Itachi used genjutsu to control the Bringers of Death, while Rodney declared Kaido’s ambitions finished.
• Rodney rested against Robin as Reiju and the others helped subdue the remaining pirates, who were imprisoned in Usagi-don Prison under Kawamatsu and Asura’s guard.
• Momonosuke asked Shimotsuki Yasuie to serve temporarily as Wano Country’s shogun until Momonosuke became a qualified samurai.

Recovering in Wano Country, Rodney discussed its reopening with Robin and decided to secure control of its Seastone mines through business rather than rule the country as Kaido had. He planned to use shared profits to draw Wano’s people and outside buyers into trade, leaving Yamato and Kin'emon to handle the country’s transition.

• Rodney told Robin that he intended to return to Aviledon and leave plans for opening Wano Country to Yamato, Kin'emon, and the others.
• Robin and Rodney discussed the World Government’s interest in Wano’s Seastone and the possibility that it would act now that Kaido was gone.
• Rodney declared that he would take control of the Seastone mines and said Wano’s skilled stonemasons would be essential to processing the ore.
• Rodney rejected ruling Wano as Kaido had and proposed using money and shared profits to secure the mines and recruit workers.
• Rodney predicted that competition for Seastone profits would draw Wano’s people into outside trade and gradually open the country’s borders.

Rodney and Robin discussed how laziness drives invention before going to meet Shimotsuki Yasuie, Wano Country’s new shogun. Rodney asked Yasuie and the Scabbards for Wano’s Seastone.

• Rodney explained to Robin that laziness, like desire, drives people to invent things, and said they would let Wano’s leaders work out their own plans.
• Rodney and Robin decided to eat and then visit Shimotsuki Yasuie; Rodney said he was only slightly interested in Wano and cared more about the Great Treasure.
• Shimotsuki Yasuie struggled with the work of repairing the damage left by Kurozumi Orochi while his daughter Toko brought him tea.
• Yasuie learned that Rodney wanted to see him and gathered Kin'emon, Denjiro, Inuarashi, Momonosuke, and Hiyori for the meeting.
• Rodney told Yasuie and the others that he wanted Wano Country’s Seastone.

Rodney demanded Wano Country’s Seastone mine as payment for defeating Kaido, arguing that the country could not protect it from the World Government. He offered Shimotsuki Yasuie and the others a plan that would bring Wano profits, but left them to decide whether to accept its consequences.

• Rodney told Shimotsuki Yasuie that he would take Wano Country’s Seastone mine as wages for defeating Kaido and Kurozumi Orochi.
• Rodney argued that Wano’s forces could not have defeated Kaido and BIG MOM and warned that the World Government would target the mine.
• Shimotsuki Yasuie asked whether Rodney was determined to take the mine, and Rodney said he would obtain it and offered the country kickbacks.
• Shimotsuki Yasuie acknowledged that Rodney’s plan was better than theirs but warned that it would bring major changes to Wano.
• Rodney said the consequences were Wano’s responsibility and offered to keep the money if they did not want it.
