Centered around Black Moon City, the rollout of Great Zhou's electricity gradually got underway. As electricity spread, the power bureau suddenly became one of the busiest departments in all of Great Zhou.

During this process, the seasons quietly slipped into winter.

This winter was a busy one for Great Zhou, and for the Elves living far away in the Elf Forest, it was different from the past as well.

"You mean that rotten kid Carter? He's been gone for so long, so why hasn't he sent back even a single message? He doesn't even come home to visit normally!"

On a new day with fairly pleasant weather, two middle-aged Elves sat outside a treehouse, basking in the sun and chatting.

When one of the middle-aged Elves brought up his son, who had gone to work in Great Zhou, he couldn't help grumbling.

Hearing this, the other middle-aged Elf clearly froze, then said somewhat strangely,

"Has it really been that long? Didn't they only leave a little while ago?"

"..."

After those words were spoken, the two Elves immediately stared at each other in bewilderment.

In this brief exchange, the strange one definitely wasn't the middle-aged Elf who had replied. It was Carter's father.

One had to understand that, as a long-lived race, Elves could summarize three or five years as "a while ago" according to their perception of time.

Carter and the others had set out in spring, and now the season had only just turned to winter. All in all, it had been just over half a year.

That span of time was truly "a little while ago" to the Elves.

After a moment of silence, Carter's father clearly realized that the problem lay with him.

When his son had still been by his side, he hadn't felt anything.
