Once the first version of the city defense crossbow was completed, it was presented to Zhou Xu at the fastest possible speed.

To ensure sufficient power, the crossbow was two meters long. Its size could not be small, and neither could its weight.

It was not easy for a single soldier to carry it around at will, but with two soldiers assigned to it, moving it was no longer much of a problem.

Under this premise, there was another issue: the city defense crossbow's original design required a support frame braced against the outside of the wall at the parapet, allowing it to counteract the recoil produced when the bolt was fired.

Therefore, the frame was completely unusable on ordinary ground, which meant that this weapon could only be used for wall-top defense to a large extent.

This also meant that testing could only be conducted on top of the wall.

Zhou Xu directly chose the section of wall facing World Edge as the testing site. Its position was relatively safe and concealed.
