Ch. 506God's Hand

Zhou Xu sent Big Bone and Second Bone to attack the High Priest while Qiansui, injured and remorseful, rushed back into the battle. Qiansui’s charge opened a path for the Great Zhou infantry, leaving the Lizardmen’s forces under renewed pressure.

  • Zhou Xu chose to control Big Bone and Second Bone rather than summon the Skeleton forces after seeing Qiansui injured.
  • The High Priest crushed Big Bone and Second Bone into scattered bones, but they reassembled and attacked him again.
  • The High Priest ordered the Green Lizard Infantry to search the Rainforest for the hidden spellcaster controlling the skeletons.
  • Qiansui charged into the Lizardmen and forced the Raptor Cavalry to retreat, creating an opening for Zhou Chongshan’s infantry to attack the Green Lizard Infantry.
  • Big Bone and Second Bone pounced on the High Priest and forced him to defend himself while Qiansui disrupted the Lizardmen’s attack.

Ch. 507Soros's Outrageous Argument

Zhou Xu and his allies regained control of the battlefield as Chitose interrupted the High Priest and Big Bone and Second Bone reassembled. With the Lizardmen close to defeat, Soros persuaded the High Priest to abandon the temple and retreat south toward their main army.

  • Chitose had instinctively created an opening, and Zhou Chongshan and Zhou Xu had seized it through coordinated tactics.
  • The High Priest repeatedly scattered Big Bone and Second Bone, while Zhou Xu exhausted himself using True Words to control the Skeleton Beasts.
  • Chitose roared at the High Priest, interrupting his technique and giving Big Bone and Second Bone time to reassemble.
  • Soros urged the High Priest to retreat south, arguing that the Inner Hall's barrier would protect their sleeping god and that the Lizardmen needed to survive.
  • The High Priest considered Soros's argument and ordered the Lizardmen to retreat.

Ch. 508Temple

After Zhou Xu drove back the Lizardmen, he collapsed from exhausting his Word of Truth power and spent several days recovering. Once he resumed his duties, he inspected the captured settlement and set out to examine the mysterious barrier around its ancient temple.

  • The Lizardmen retreated while Zhou Xu ordered his guards not to pursue too far, then he lost consciousness and Big Bone and Second Bone fell apart as his Word of Truth power faded.
  • Qiansui and Wang Pengfei welcomed Zhou Xu when he awoke two days later, and Wang Pengfei announced the news to the troops.
  • Zhou Xu rested for nearly five days as his body and Word of Truth power slowly recovered.
  • Li Ce reported that twenty-three soldiers had died, seventy-one were wounded, and much of their equipment had been damaged in the battle.
  • Zhou Xu inspected the Lizardmen's stone settlement and learned that an invisible force blocked entry into its ancient temple.
  • Zhou Xu told Li Ce he wanted to see the barrier covering the temple.

Ch. 509The Fated One

Zhou Xu discovered that he alone could pass through the barrier surrounding the Lizardmen's Inner Hall and entered it despite Li Ce's concerns. Inside, he encountered a sleeping white dragon, which recognized him as Zhou Hongxu, the last descendant of Great Zhou.

  • Li Ce tested the Inner Hall's invisible barrier and found that touching it caused no harm, while Zhou Xu's hand passed through it.
  • Wang Pengfei tried the barrier and confirmed that he could not pass through, and Wang Dong was blocked as well.
  • Zhou Xu prepared the Three-bow Ballista and told Li Ce and the others to use it if he had not returned after three hours.
  • Zhou Xu passed through the barrier and entered the dim Inner Hall, where he saw a glowing white dragon sleeping on an altar.
  • The white dragon woke and addressed Zhou Xu as the Fated One and the last descendant of Great Zhou, calling him Zhou Hongxu.

Ch. 510Contract

Zhou Xu met the fading will of Dragon God Xilan, learned that he had prepared a sealed Dragon Lord class for him, and accepted a contract to protect Xilan’s final offspring. Xilan disappeared after entrusting the task to Zhou Xu, who found a glowing embryo on the altar.

  • Dragon God Xilan told Zhou Xu that his true body had died and that he had left behind a will to fulfill their pact.
  • Xilan explained that he had created the sealed Dragon Lord class for Zhou Xu and that it could command the Lizardmen guarding the temple.
  • Xilan offered Zhou Xu the class in exchange for protecting his offspring without harming or controlling it.
  • Zhou Xu reviewed the contract and accepted, gaining the sealed Dragon Lord class.
  • Dragon God Xilan vanished after entrusting his offspring to Zhou Xu, who discovered a glowing embryo on the altar.

Ch. 511Son of the Dragon God's Offspring

Zhou Xu awakened the Little White Dragon, who recognized him as Zhou Hongxu and introduced himself as Bamu, the Son of the Dragon God. After Bamu noticed Zhou Xu’s memory loss, he tried to claim Zhou Xu had been his servant, but Zhou Xu slapped him down.

  • Zhou Xu watched the Little White Dragon awaken, then ruffled its head when it insulted him as Zhou Hongxu.
  • Bamu tried to pounce on Zhou Xu and enlarge himself, but Zhou Xu slapped him back onto the altar and Bamu discovered he had lost his strength.
  • Zhou Xu learned the Little White Dragon called himself Bamu and tested the idea that they had known each other before.
  • Bamu realized Zhou Xu might have lost his memory and smugly claimed Zhou Xu had once served him.
  • Zhou Xu slapped Bamu flat before he could finish describing his supposed duties.

Ch. 512Bamu

Zhou Xu learned that Bamu knew little about the ancient conflict and that a dangerous enemy had been kept secret because even knowing or naming it could attract its attention. After leaving the altar with the exhausted Bamu, Zhou Xu reunited with Li Ce and the others, while Qiansui knocked Bamu aside for boasting.

  • Bamu accepted that the Dragon God Xilan had died and admitted he did not know what had happened in the ancient conflict.
  • Bamu told Zhou Xu that the others had kept the enemy’s existence and name secret because knowing or speaking of it might expose them to danger.
  • Zhou Xu decided not to investigate the enemy further and left the altar with Bamu, who was too weak to fly and perched on his shoulder.
  • Li Ce and the others entered after the barrier disappeared, and Zhou Xu reassured the panicked Qiansui.
  • Bamu challenged Qiansui to serve him, but Qiansui struck him into a wall and went to nuzzle Zhou Xu.

Ch. 513Bam (Part Two)

Zhou Xu managed the rivalry between Bamu and Qiansui, then learned that the altar powered the Ancient Dragon race Defensive Barrier. After nearly being drained trying to activate it, he found out Bamu was eleven and would reach adulthood at thirty, leaving Zhou Xu expecting to care for him for nineteen more years.

  • Bamu provoked Qiansui until Zhou Xu warned him and demonstrated how easily Qiansui could threaten him.
  • Bamu explained that the altar was probably the core of the barrier, and Zhou Xu used the system to try activating it.
  • The barrier siphoned away Zhou Xu's True Word power, so he immediately stopped the attempt.
  • Zhou Xu learned that Bamu was eleven and that Ancient Dragons reached adulthood at thirty.

Ch. 514Huh? They Have Fighting Power Too?

Zhou Xu questioned Bamu about Great Zhou, threat classifications, and the dragon race’s military hierarchy. Bamu knew little about Zhou Xu’s possible connection to Great Zhou, but explained that Lizardmen had originally been created for chores, unaware that Dragon God Xilan later sent them to fight in a war.

  • Zhou Xu rested while Bamu devoured nearly half a roasted sheep, then wondered whether his real name, Zhou Hongxu, was connected to Great Zhou.
  • Zhou Xu asked Bamu about Great Zhou, but Bamu said Zhou Xu had never told him anything about it.
  • Bamu explained that creatures were classified as Threat Level, Disaster Level, or Cataclysm Level according to the scale of danger they posed.
  • When Zhou Xu asked about the Lizardmen’s fighting power, Bamu said they had been created to handle daily chores and described the dragon race’s ranks and forces.
  • The narration revealed that after Bamu fell asleep, Dragon God Xilan had blessed the Lizardmen and deployed them as reinforcements in the war, where they fought effectively despite remaining at the bottom of the dragon forces.

Ch. 515Dragon Lord

After the Dragon God's power vanished, the High Priest feared that their creator had fallen as the Lizardmen grew weak. In the temple, Zhou Xu explored his new Dragon Lord class and unlocked a strengthening ability for the Lizardmen.

  • The High Priest felt the Dragon God's power disappear and feared the Dragon God had fallen, while nearby Lizardmen began to weaken.
  • Zhou Xu opened his system panel and found a new Class section containing the Dragon Lord class.
  • Zhou Xu discovered that Dragon Lord could command Lizardmen, but the system warned that upgrading it posed an extremely high risk, so he stopped.
  • Zhou Xu examined locked options for Lizardmen Soldier Training and Lizardmen Comprehensive Strengthening, then chose to pursue the broader strengthening ability.
  • After waiting a day, Zhou Xu unlocked Lizardmen Comprehensive Strengthening at Level 1 by spending True Word power.

Ch. 516New Discovery

Zhou Xu discovered that examining existing Dragonkin facilities could automatically unlock their corresponding projects, then inspected the Sacred Hatchery beneath the temple. The hatchery contained many Lizardmen eggs and could improve hatching speed and success, with a small chance of producing stronger Dragonkin.

  • Zhou Xu decided to wait until his Truth Power had fully recovered before unlocking or upgrading another project.
  • Zhou Xu carried the reluctant Bamu out to inspect the Lizardmen's facilities, since Bamu understood Dragonkin-related structures.
  • Li Ce led Zhou Xu and Bamu down a long staircase beneath the temple to an underground chamber lit by illumination stones.
  • Bamu pointed out the Sacred Hatchery, and the system automatically unlocked its building project when Zhou Xu discovered it.
  • Zhou Xu inspected the hatchery's crystal-clear water and densely packed Lizardmen eggs, then read that the building improved hatching and could sometimes produce stronger Dragonkin.

Ch. 517Inspecting the Lizardmen Territory

Zhou Xu inspected the Lizardmen territory, discovering a Sacred Hatchery full of eggs and farmland growing unfamiliar fruits. After ordering samples brought back for testing and cultivation, he followed Li Ce onward to inspect the next area.

  • Zhou Xu found more than a thousand Lizardmen eggs in the Sacred Hatchery and asked Bamu about their hatching and growth, but Bamu did not know.
  • Zhou Xu left the hatchery with Li Ce and the others and followed a path to the Lizardmen's farmland.
  • Li Ce explained that the unfamiliar fruits and melons had not been eaten because they needed to be tested first.
  • Bamu sampled the fruits and declared some tasty, prompting Zhou Xu to try a golden fruit himself.
  • Zhou Xu ordered Li Ce to dig up samples of every variety with their roots so they could be tested for cultivation back in Great Zhou, then continued onward while eating.

Ch. 518I Don’t Understand, but I’m Deeply Shaken

Zhou Xu inspected the Lizardmen’s abandoned territory and learned that Sharp Crystal could improve a weapon’s sharpness, raising hopes of forging enchanted weapons. A soldier then reported that the Lizardmen’s High Priest had returned with troops to attack.

  • Zhou Xu and Li Ce inspected the empty swift-dragon training ground, and Zhou Xu planned to reorganize the territory.
  • Li Ce showed Zhou Xu the mine where the Lizardmen had obtained the crystals used for their weapons.
  • Bamu identified the mineral as Sharp Crystal and explained that Metal Dragons ate ores and metals to strengthen their bodies.
  • Bamu said Sharp Crystal could make forged weapons sharper, and Zhou Xu considered combining it with iron to create material for enchanted weapons.
  • A soldier warned Zhou Xu that the Lizardmen’s High Priest had led troops back for another attack.

Ch. 519The Lizardmen Who Turned Back

Zhou Xu hurried to meet the returning Lizardmen and prepared his forces for battle, uncertain why they had turned back. When the Lizardmen reached the battlefield, Zhou Xu’s Dragon Lord aura overwhelmed them, and they fell to their knees believing their deity had descended.

  • Zhou Xu ordered nearby forces to gather and patrol against a flanking attack, then rode Chisui toward the Lizardmen’s tribal grounds with Bamu.
  • Zhou Xu suspected the Lizardmen had joined up with troops withdrawn from the front line, increasing the threat they posed.
  • At the defensive line, Zhou Xu found Li Tie had already arranged patrols and praised him for his initiative.
  • The Lizardmen advanced under their High Priest, determined to reclaim their temple and regain the Dragon God’s blessing.
  • Zhou Xu’s overwhelming presence struck the Lizardmen, including Soros, and forced them to kneel, convinced their deity had descended.

Ch. 520Harder to Control Than an AK

Zhou Xu’s Dragon Lord aura caused the Lizardmen tribe to kneel and submit, including the High Priest, whom he recruited along with the tribe. Bamu explained that the High Priest had a trace of Dragonkin blood and that the Sacred Hatchery could give Lizardmen Dragonkin traits.

  • Zhou Xu learned from Bamu that the High Priest was not a pure Lizardman and possessed a small amount of Dragonkin blood.
  • Bamu explained that his restriction prevented him from suppressing the Lizardmen, so Zhou Xu tried glaring at the High Priest.
  • The High Priest recognized Zhou Xu as his lord, knelt, and prompted the other Lizardmen to submit.
  • System notifications confirmed that Zhou Xu had recruited the Lizardmen tribe and unlocked entries for its units.
  • Zhou Xu told Li Tie to settle the Lizardmen and bring their leaders to meet him.
  • Bamu explained that the Sacred Hatchery, created to awaken Dragonkin blood, could give Lizardmen a trace of Dragonkin traits.

Ch. 521Lizardmen and Dragonkin

Zhou Xu learned how dragon blood could turn Lizardmen into Dragonkin and discovered that another Half-Dragon Person was among the newcomers. The Lizardmen High Priest and commander Soros entered the temple, where the High Priest regarded Zhou Xu as their deity.

  • Bamu explained that Lizardmen could become Dragonkin through exposure to dragon blood, though the process required a large amount and was usually dangerous for other creatures.
  • Bamu told Zhou Xu that two Half-Dragon People had been among the kneeling Lizardmen, and Zhou Xu ordered a soldier to find the less conspicuous one.
  • Zhou Xu inspected his Dragon Lord class panel and saw that accepting the Lizardmen had unlocked multiple mostly level-one unit classes.
  • A soldier summoned the High Priest and commander Soros to the temple, while the exhausted High Priest struggled up the steps.
  • The High Priest entered with Soros and, sensing Zhou Xu's bloodline influence and their slight physical recovery, became more certain that Zhou Xu was their deity.

Ch. 522Mutually Shifting the Blame

Zhou Xu inspected the High Priest Bolevin and Soros, then accepted them as generals and ordered them to call him King. When he questioned them about their retreat, they blamed each other and began fighting in front of him.

  • Zhou Xu used the Eye of Insight to inspect Bolevin and Soros, learning their abilities and attributes.
  • Zhou Xu told Bolevin and Soros to rise and address him as King, and they obeyed.
  • Zhou Xu praised Soros for commanding the Lizardmen in battle, noting that Li Ce had grown into a capable general.
  • Zhou Xu asked Bolevin why he had returned after leaving, and Bolevin blamed Soros for misleading him.
  • Soros said Bolevin had made the final decision, prompting Bolevin to attack him and start a fight before Zhou Xu.

Ch. 523Half Joy, Half Worry

Zhou Xu learned that the Dragon God's disappearance had stripped the Lizardmen of their enhancements, leaving them dependent on Great Zhou for new buffs. He sent Bolevin to secure the Lizardmen on the southern battlefield and learned more about their population, lifespan, and reproduction.

  • Bolevin and Soros stopped wrestling when Zhou Xu ordered them to, then explained why they had turned back.
  • Zhou Xu learned that the Dragon God's consciousness had dissipated, removing the Lizardmen's buffs and weakening their combat strength.
  • Worried about the Lizardmen fighting Ratmen on the southern battlefield, Zhou Xu ordered Bolevin to hurry there and have them submit to Great Zhou.
  • Zhou Xu kept Soros with him and learned that only four Half-Dragon People remained, after one died on the southern battlefield and Gruul died on the plains battlefield.
  • Soros told Zhou Xu that Lizardmen matured at six, and that Soruk and Baltu laid different numbers of eggs, which incubated for ten months.

Ch. 524What Kind of Ridiculous Move Is This?!

Zhou Xu upgraded Lizardmen Comprehensive Strengthening to Level Two and confirmed that it boosted Soros, then learned why the Lizardmen relied on inferior crystal weapons. Soros's account left Zhou Xu furious over the clan's lost ancient weapons and vanished elite forces.

  • Zhou Xu upgraded Lizardmen Comprehensive Strengthening from Level One to Level Two, but stopped when the system warned that Level Three posed too great a risk.
  • Zhou Xu asked Soros whether he had felt a boost in physical strength, and Soros thanked him for the blessing.
  • Zhou Xu questioned Soros about whether the Lizardmen could make better weapons and learned that their crystal weapons served only as an auxiliary material.
  • Soros explained that after the Old Civilization fell, the Lizardmen sent half their elite force out with preserved weapons to find scattered clans, but the force vanished.
  • Soros said the remaining elite force later set out with the rest of the weapons and equipment to search for the missing warriors, and also disappeared.
  • Zhou Xu became furious at the Lizardmen's decision to send away their elite warriors and ancient weapons.

Ch. 525Ah?!!

Zhou Xu decided to reinforce the Lizardmen fighting the Ratmen in the south with a cavalry unit, since their casualties now counted as Great Zhou’s losses. After rewarding officers for the Lizardmen campaign, he assigned Zhou Chongshan to lead the cavalry south and left Li Ce in charge of the Lizardmen’s territory.

  • Zhou Xu learned from Soros that cavalry could operate effectively across the southern battlefield’s hills and plains, but the Green Lizard Priests had lost their ability to accelerate the formation of energy channels.
  • Zhou Xu decided not to spend months unlocking that ability and chose to prioritize improving the Lizardmen’s combat strength instead.
  • Zhou Xu summoned Li Ce and Zhou Chongshan, promoted Li Ce to captain, rewarded both men, and announced promotions and rewards for Zhuo Ge and Shilke.
  • Zhou Xu ordered Zhou Chongshan to lead a cavalry unit with weapons and equipment to reinforce the Lizardmen against the Ratmen, while Li Ce stayed behind to oversee the Lizardmen’s territory.
  • Zhou Xu appointed Wang Pengfei as supervising officer for the southern mission, surprising him.
