Chapter 1: Abyss Descent
Darkness.
Deep, deep, bottomless, without a single speck of light.
Within this endless darkness, there was a suffocating pain, accompanied by a constant sense of falling, and an inability to resist.
What a desperate, helpless, and terrible feeling.
Just then, a faint light appeared in the distant, pitch-black abyss.
The illusory light, starting from hazy, gradually expanded, becoming clearer, and the entire world was covered in color.
The moment the colors settled, a pair of eyes opened.
The old walls came into view, and the intense suffocation and pain still filled his mind.
He struggled to lift his head, and his peripheral vision caught sight of a taut rope.
At this moment, a youth in a blue and white school uniform could be seen hanging by the rope, his entire face turned a purplish-red.
"Ah!"
The youth's eyes widened, and he struggled desperately. Although he didn't understand what was happening, he didn't want to hang himself.
Creak~
The entire rope swayed back and forth due to the youth's violent struggles.
Unfortunately, all of it seemed futile. The rope dug deeper into the flesh and skin of his neck, and the intense suffocation made the youth roll his eyes.
However, just as he was about to give up.
Crack!
The old steel frame ceiling suddenly collapsed.
Rumble~
The youth fell heavily, crashing onto the debris on the ground.
The tremendous noise was exceptionally jarring in the silent night.
"Cough, cough~"
The youth collapsed on the ground, breathing heavily, greedily inhaling fresh air.
Thump, thump~
Soon, hurried footsteps could be heard from outside the door. Then, the door was pushed open, and two figures rushed in. Seeing the youth lying on the ground, they shouted excitedly.
"We found Su Ming! He's here!"
The youth struggled to look up at the figures at the door. Before he could understand what was happening, more and more people rushed in.
Surrounding the youth, everyone said anxiously.
"Quick, take him to the infirmary."
A moment later, in the clean infirmary.
Su Ming lay on the hospital bed, staring blankly at the ceiling with a lost expression.
In the infirmary, many students in blue and white school uniforms were chattering.
"What's wrong with Su Ming? He hasn't said a word all this time. Could he have had a mental breakdown and gone crazy?"
"It's normal. If my love letter was made public to the whole school, I might be the same."
"This guy is truly pathetic!"
"Quiet! No more nonsense!"
A thin, middle-aged man with prominent cheekbones, sallow skin, and wearing a gray teacher's uniform suppressed his annoyance and scolded the chattering students.
"Yes, Teacher Tang."
The students present exchanged glances and fell silent.
Just then, the infirmary door was suddenly pushed open heavily. A middle-aged man, about 1.5 meters tall, with a beer belly, wearing a black tailcoat, his shiny hair meticulously combed, and sporting a small mustache, pulled a tall, gem-necklace-wearing noblewoman in a red dress, and rushed in with extreme urgency.
Seeing Su Ming lying on the hospital bed, they rushed frantically to the bedside and asked with concern.
"Son, are you alright?"
"Where do you feel uncomfortable?"
"Who harmed you so badly? Tell Dad, and Dad will definitely sue them!"
Su Ming looked blankly at the middle-aged couple, showing no reaction.
Seeing Su Ming's lack of response, their expressions became even more uneasy. They asked anxiously.
"Son, what's wrong? Say something!"
"Don't scare us!"
"Parents, please calm down!"
Tang Yan and a rather old school doctor quickly stepped forward to comfort him.
"Doctor, what's wrong with my son?"
Su Ming's parents asked nervously.
"Student Su Ming attempted to hang himself in the storage room not long ago. Although he was rescued, the lack of oxygen may have caused slight damage to his brain tissue, leading to consciousness problems. Let him rest quietly, and perhaps he'll recover,"
the school doctor sighed.
"Yes, that's right. Please don't get too agitated. Student Su Ming needs rest now."
Tang Yan echoed, then turned to the other students who had helped search.
"Everyone, go back to your dorms and get some rest. You have class tomorrow."
Although the students present were a bit reluctant, they eventually left one by one.
Su Ming's parents' tense hearts eased slightly after hearing the doctor and Tang Yan, and they looked at Su Ming again.
"My son, look at me. I'm your mother!"
Su Ming's mother said with red eyes.
Su Ming merely glanced at the middle-aged woman and didn't speak. His head was throbbing more and more, and he had no idea what was going on.
"You really can't remember anything?"
"Mother?"
Su Ming's lips moved, and he murmured softly.
At this moment, a fragmented memory suddenly flashed through his mind.
In the memory, he was standing on the sports field, surrounded by many figures in blue and white school uniforms, all laughing at him.
Then the memory shifted. He was leaning against a classroom window, looking at a beautiful figure on the sports field.
As memory fragments continued to surge, Su Ming felt as if his head was being torn apart. The piercing pain made him let out a groan of agony.
"Ah~"
"Son, what's wrong?"
Seeing this, Su Ming's parents asked anxiously.
"Ah, my head hurts so much!"
Su Ming clutched his head and thrashed on the hospital bed, countless memory fragments flooding his mind.
The school doctor beside him quickly grabbed a tranquilizer and rushed over, shouting.
"Hold him down!"
Tang Yan and the others frantically reached out and restrained Su Ming.
Just as Su Ming was about to remember everything, the needle pierced his arm. Su Ming immediately felt a wave of intense fatigue wash over him, and then he fell unconscious.
One day later.
Quiet sunlight streamed through the transparent floor-to-ceiling window, casting a glow on the spacious bed.
Su Ming slowly opened his eyes and sat up with difficulty.
He rubbed his forehead, groggily got out of bed, and walked towards the bathroom.
In the bathroom, Su Ming blankly turned on the faucet.
Gurgle gurgle~
Su Ming cupped his hands, catching the flowing water to wash his face.
The cold water immediately cleared his muddled head. He then looked up at the mirror.
A round, chubby face appeared in his eyes.
"Ah~"
Su Ming jolted, startled.
His first reaction was: Who am I? Where am I?
His entire mind was blank.
However, Su Ming quickly calmed down and organized his chaotic thoughts.
He then took a deep breath and looked at the mirror again.
He examined himself in the mirror and was stunned.
This was the first time he had looked in a mirror.
Five minutes later, Su Ming sighed helplessly, having accepted this new identity.
"ε=(ο`*))) Alas"
"I didn't expect this body to be so fat? At least 180 pounds, right?"
Su Ming looked down at his new body from all angles, then murmured softly.
