The enormous ape hand came crashing down, roaring through the air with a startlingly lifelike appearance. But the Misty Flying Sword's light pierced through it with ease, and Sword Qi shredded it to pieces.
Lu Xiaotian abruptly turned around. Behind him, an enormous ape claw, identical to the one before, came crashing down.
The flying sword changed direction and struck the ape hand descending from behind. Just like before, the claw was shredded by Sword Qi.
Xiang Qingcheng and the Yin-Yang Lame Monster stood on either side of Lu Xiaotian, not too far away. This put them in a position to intervene if anything went wrong, while also deterring the Wind-and-Snow Demonic Apes gradually closing in around them. Looking out across the glacier, they saw swarms of the apes covering the rises and dips, packed so thickly that their numbers were impossible to discern.
Though Lu Xiaotian's clash with the giant demonic ape had yet to reveal its true force, these bizarre probing attacks were perilous all the same. They were no less dangerous than a full-blown fight. While staying alert to their surroundings, the Yin-Yang Lame Monster also kept an eye on Xiang Qingcheng, having spent the past few days privately trying to guess what sort of relationship she had with the silver-haired young man.
The relationship between the two was indeed unusually complicated. Earlier, when Lu Xiaotian saw this woman being pursued by the Golden Armor Corpse King and his group, he had shown no intention of helping her. That much was undeniable.
For a while, the two had even seemed at odds. The Yin-Yang Lame Monster had foolishly tried to mediate between them, hoping to smooth things over. But only after their battle with the Nethermoon Demonic Tapir did he realize that they had joined forces long
