The beings within the Gloomy Demon Mound could generally be divided into three categories. The first were creatures born with the place and that had survived there until now. Though they had absorbed vast amounts of mound baleful intent, their intelligence had not been completely drowned out. They were merely somewhat less clever than beings from the outside world. There was no shortage of wise and vigilant monsters among them, either. Some had entered from the outside world but eventually fallen into depravity of the Primordial Spirit, becoming mound spirits. As for the rest, they were outsiders like Lu Xiaotian, whose minds remained clear.
The panting Barren Stone Beast before them was clearly of the first type, a creature born and raised within the Gloomy Demon Mound. Though its entire body radiated the vicious aura of mound baleful intent, its eyes clearly held a glimmer of wariness and cunning amid their ferocity.
