The puppet controlled by Lu Xiaotian carved a bloody path ahead, its killing intent so fierce that even the Red-Stop Goat Demon felt his heart skip a beat. Lu Xiaotian might not be as cruel-tempered as the demonic fiend Venerable Demon Huai Ye, but he was certainly no kindhearted gentleman. The middle-aged man and his family of three were especially worried that if they failed to find the people Lu Xiaotian was looking for, he might take his anger out on them.
The journey was a little over ten thousand li. Other people entering the Dark Demon Mound would have to tread carefully to avoid trouble, but with Lu Xiaotian clearing the way directly with puppets and pushing ahead at full speed, ordinary mound spirits simply couldn't surround them in time. But the scorched rocks, burned-out low-grade spirit plants, and bare trees were indeed the work of the fire corpses Che Da and Che Er, who had wielded corpse fire.
"So it really was them." Lu Xiaotian's brow relaxed. Whatever else, finding a lead was better than coming up empty-handed.
