A weak soldier made for a weak army; a weak general made for a weak force. Without strong leadership, these low-ranking members of the Devil Race were nothing but scattered sand, no threat to either Lu Xiaotian or the Ice-Crowned Crocodile Demon. But once guided by an Integrated Body old devil, their threat multiplied severalfold.
With these low-ranking Demonic Beasts serving as cannon fodder, and those Integrated Body old devils charging in from time to time, their side could attack or defend at will. No matter how much confidence the Ice-Crowned Crocodile Demon had in Lu Xiaotian, the situation still made his scalp prickle.
Lu Xiaotian furrowed his brow as he surveyed the scene before him. The treachery of these Integrated Body old devils had truly exceeded his expectations. But on second thought, it was only natural. Competition between the different races of the Devil Race was no less fierce than that between the human and ghost races—in fact, most of the time, it was even more intense.
The ambush on the demonic-patterned bees, and the heavy losses they suffered, might well have served the interests of certain Devil Race factions.
Perhaps some of the Integrated Body old devils had also intended to weaken the demonic-patterned bee race. They had not expected Lu Xiaotian and the others to be so ferocious. In the briefest moment, before their reinforcements could even arrive, four of the five Integrated Body old monsters had been dealt with, leaving only the weakest one.
Two of the Integrated Body Late Stage old devils had gathered around them, and another would arrive before long. As for the other Integrated Body Middle and Early Stage cultivators, there were more than twenty of them combined. They had an overwhelming advantage over Lu Xiaotian and the Ice-Crowned Crocodile Demon.
