After repeated bouts, Lin Wei had exhausted nearly all his immortal essence each time. Lu Xiaotian could have taken his life with the lightest blow, yet every time, he had held back. It seemed he had no intention of killing him just yet, and Lin Wei still clung to a sliver of hope.
What worried Lin Wei was that he had no idea when the other man might change his mind—or decide he had grown too familiar with Lin Wei's fighting style and no longer found him useful. The next time they fought, the other man might not hold back at the last moment.
Lin Wei wanted to seize the chance to cultivate and recover to his peak as quickly as possible. But inside the other man's pagoda, absorbing immortal spiritual energy was not nearly as easy as it was outside.
In truth, Lu Xiaotian had already noticed this. His Demon-Suppressing Tower seemed able to isolate the energy inside from the outside world to some degree. This was especially true after he had merged a small pocket of space into the tower. Though he still could not freely alter the space within, he could prevent immortal spiritual energy from entering or leaving, as well as keep auras from leaking out.
The immortal spiritual energy here was denser than in the other places Lu Xiaotian had passed through, but his cultivation required a great deal of it, so he naturally used it for himself first. Only after he had mostly recovered would he channel some of it into the Demon-Suppressing Tower, allowing Lin Wei to regain part of his strength.
