The phantom image of the flying phoenix descended over their heads in the blink of an eye. At the same time, the Hun Earth Bell above Ming Cheng's head rang once more. Without the suppression of the Purple Light of Annihilation, its hazy yellow radiance, carrying the phantom images of mountains collapsing and earth splitting, instead wrapped around the purple centipede demon.
The centipede demon was no pushover, either. After one move failed, its vicious nature flared. It opened its mouth and spat out a round sphere resembling a nest, within which countless tiny purple specks crawled. The purple centipede demon spat a mass of demonic essence onto it, then took out a small green bottle. A drop of green liquid flew from the bottle and fell onto the nest-like sphere. In an instant, the purple specks on the sphere seemed to explode like a pot boiling over, shooting in all directions and transforming into tiny two-winged centipedes.
As they flew outward, the centipedes' bodies continued to expand. By the time they had grown to roughly a foot long, they stopped growing. The densely packed two-winged purple centipedes, like a swarm of locusts, flew toward the phantom image of the flying phoenix.
The phantom phoenix let out a clear cry, and large numbers of two-winged purple centipedes were shaken into pieces. Whenever they touched the yellow pillars of light fired by the Hun Earth Seal, those two-winged purple centipedes also vanished into thin air. There were simply far too many of them flying out of that sphere. They could not be killed fast enough: as soon as one batch was destroyed, a second, a third, and even more flew out without pause, an endless and uncountable stream.
Several phantom images of flying phoenixes came rushing through the void one after
