Spend too long with these nobodies destined to leave no mark on the world, and you'll become just as ordinary as everyone else. Why not come sit with me in my carriage?" Chu Zhaoyang had clearly spotted Mu Xia's group. He ignored Shentu Zhanfeng, Nie Tianhou, and Lu Xiaotian entirely, patting the seat beside him as he called out to Mu Xia.
Nie Tianhou, Shentu Zhanfeng, and Bai Ruxue's expressions darkened. Though they weren't among the most distinguished Mystic Immortal powerhouses in the Honghao Celestial Court, there weren't many who outranked them. To be treated with such contempt was galling. The worst part was that Chu Zhaoyang truly was powerful. Nie Tianhou and Shentu Zhanfeng both knew he was doing it on purpose.
"You shameless, frivolous lout! This isn't your Chu family's territory. Do you really think you're the master here?" Mu Xia rebuked him.
Lu Xiaotian glanced at Mu Xia in surprise. He'd already suspected as much; it seemed her standing was at least on a par with Chu Zhaoyang's. Otherwise, why would Bai Ruxue be standing with them, yet receive no special attention from him?
"I'm simply true to myself. I don't bother hiding who I am from ants." Chu Zhaoyang laughed. "Since you're unwilling, then stay content with mediocrity."
Chu Zhaoyang spread his hands and sat back down. Even Lu Xiaotian thought the man deserved a good beating. Yet given Chu Zhaoyang's status, few Mystic Immortals could hope to defeat him, while Celestials couldn't lay a hand on him. It seemed there really was nothing anyone could do about the fellow.
"What a croaking toad, boasting like he's got the world in his mouth!" Lu Xiaotian didn't need to
