The sand-puppet giants rampaged through the passage. The immortal army that had first fought to seize it suffered heavy losses. Hundreds of warships met their end inside the passage, either shattered to pieces or left in tatters, burning fiercely or belching billows of black smoke. Countless immortal soldiers and cloud-sand puppets lay dead and wounded in heaps.
The savage struggle continued for half a month.
Yoo! A dozen or so giant eagles, with green vines of varying lengths growing from their backs, flew through the void. With a single beat of their wings, they scattered countless purple-green seeds. The seeds quickly sprouted, growing into a mass of purple-green vines at a speed visible to the naked eye. Bristling with spikes, the vines writhed through the void like a horde of demons. The sand-puppet giants had astonishing strength and defenses, but they were not especially fast. As the giant eagles swept across the void, the purple-green vines rapidly spread in thick tangles, attacking everything in their path—the surviving immortal soldiers, the cloud-ridge sand puppets, and even the sand-puppet giants.
Boom, boom, boom! After struggling for a while, the cloud-sand puppet warriors ensnared by the vines exploded into countless grains of sand. Many of the purple-green vines were blown to pieces as well. The surviving immortal soldiers were also strangled one after another, reduced to mangled flesh and blood.
The sand-puppet giants were far more resistant. With great, sweeping motions, they snapped the vines that had initially wrapped around them. But the purple-green vines knew no fear, surging forward one after another.
By the time Lu Xiaotian appeared at the edge of the battlefield again, the sand-puppet giants were already wrapped in a thick layer of purple-green vines. The once-mighty giants had begun to sway unsteadily in the void.
