The Scorpion Demon was thinking along these lines when he watched the Heart-Slaying Demonfall Qi corrode an ever-larger area of the formation. Suddenly, a section of the formation barrier caved in. Caught off guard, the Heart-Eroding Demon watched as the gray Heart-Slaying Demonfall Qi collapsed along with it. He was too late to pull it back, and it was engulfed by the formation. Though he could still sense it faintly, he had lost any clear sense of its location.
"How could this happen?" The Scorpion Demon's heart lurched. The Heart-Eroding Demon was even more furious, his heart twisting in pain. He had realized the formation was peculiar, but it was too late. Most of the Heart-Slaying Demonfall Qi he had painstakingly refined had been swallowed by the formation. The best outcome now was probably to end up like the Scorpion Demon's soul-body, sealed inside the grand formation indefinitely.
At the same time, after his methods had been directly neutralized, the Heart-Eroding Demon felt an intense sense of danger closing in.
Instinctively, he tried to withdraw.

Even though they were now opponents, Lu Xiaotian couldn't help admiring the Heart-Eroding Demon's keen sense of danger and his decisiveness in retreating as soon as the situation turned against him.
