The spirit of the magic vine intended to use Lu Xiaotian and the others to deal with the wood-sharks, though from Lu Xiaotian's perspective, using the vine spirit to deal with the wood-sharks was naturally the proper course of action.
It seemed that while the vine spirit was surprised by the arrival of these wood-sharks, it was not lacking in understanding regarding them. Without the vine spirit, given the current setup, it truly would not have been easy for him and Lou Yikong to deal with the wood-sharks or find the Law Mirror Immortal Tree. Making a rash move without a thorough understanding of the enemy might well have cost them dearly.
Even if the vine spirit wanted Lu Xiaotian and his group to strike first, it still hoped they could defeat the wood-shark race and would inevitably, intentionally or not, reveal the weaknesses of the wood-sharks or methods to break the current deadlock.
"Wood-shark pearls?" Before Jiang Yuan could even speak, Fu Lianyue and Wen Tingfeng chimed in together, identifying the origin of those purplish-red pearls.
