As several claw-shadows struck at Gu Dongping, Dragon Lion waved a hand. Three corpse puppets, as tall as ordinary people but with wings growing from their backs, appeared and turned into streaks of phantom images as they lunged at Gu Dongping.
After a fierce battle, the Snowfield Demon Deer and Dragon Lion had still underestimated the methods of a powerhouse at Gu Dongping's level.
In the ensuing fight, the three seemingly weightless purple flames of the nether orchid sealed off every avenue of retreat and escape. The Snowfield Demon Deer and Dragon Lion found the space they could move in shrinking by the moment. They tried to break out of their predicament, but each time Gu Dongping used the three purple flames of the nether orchid to drive them back.
The two knew how powerful these flames were. A single touch would leave them reduced to wandering souls. As the battle wore on, they grew increasingly hesitant to make a move.
Furious and alarmed, the Snowfield Demon Deer and Dragon Lion charged this way and that, but could not break free. They could only watch as the space in which they could survive was gradually squeezed away. Gu Dongping could have used even more ruthless methods to finish off the two greedy creatures before him, but his condition would not allow him to make any greater effort.
Even now, Gu Dongping felt he was on the verge of collapse. His skin looked like stone slowly weathered by the wind, and every gust that swept past lifted a fine spray of dust from him.
"Ugh." Gu Dongping's hair had grown grayer and whiter. After fighting so frequently, he could no longer suppress his injuries and vomited mouthful after mouthful of blood, soaking the front of his robe. He looked like an
