"Is there any way to contact Elder Lin?" Lu Xiaotian asked, looking at the black-robed elder.
"No. Neither Elder Lin nor I have ever been to a place like this. We made no preparations for it beforehand, and it's obvious we've fallen into their trap. For now, the two of us can only tough it out." The black-robed elder shook his head gravely. "Let's retreat first and avoid fighting them directly as much as possible. We might be able to hold out a little longer."
"I suppose that's our only choice." The black-robed elder's answer clearly disappointed Lu Xiaotian. He had picked up quite a few droplets on the way here, and with them still clinging to him, he couldn't possibly increase his speed by much in an instant.
By contrast, Whale Yihun and Yuan Gang were now approaching much faster than before.
"Eastern rebel, surprised to see us again?" Whale Yihun regarded Lu Xiaotian with an amused expression. "You even dared to split up and pursue us in this unfamiliar place. I can't tell if you're impatient for success or just born foolish."
"Even without Elder Lin, the two of you may not be able to take down me and the Eastern Alchemy Sage so easily. It's still anyone's guess who will come out on top." The black-robed elder wasn't about to let the other side intimidate him. He gave a cold laugh. "Eastern Alchemy Sage, this fight is unavoidable now. I've already seen what Whale Yihun and this Shanhai Ape can do. They may be under less pressure here in this haunted place, but that doesn't mean taking us down will be easy. Which one do you want?"
"I'll take Yuan Gang. If I can't hold him off, Elder Gu, I'll need you to help me in time."
