The fact that the other party could move freely in the Demon-Sealing Mire also piqued Lu Xiaotian's interest.

It seemed this supposedly forbidden land was not as tranquil as it appeared on the surface.

"Is this Empty Moon Ice Spring you mentioned real?" asked Yingbo, the strange beast with a fish's body and a pair of wings growing from its back, his voice low. "You should know your situation. If there's even the slightest lie, you won't find a place to hide—not just in the Demon-Sealing Mire, but anywhere in the entire Sunken Demon Necropolis."

"Don't worry. I know what's at stake. I wouldn't trick you about something like this." The purple-flame skeleton let out a dry chuckle.

"You're not the only one who wants to change your standing in your clan. I'm just as unwilling to keep hiding here, surviving only because of your protection. We both need the Empty Moon Ice Spring to advance our cultivation."

"Then let's go." Yingbo nodded, and the two flew off together.

It seemed the two were only pretending to work together, each wary of the other. The winged fish-bodied creature was likely an exotic beast of the Yingyu clan.

Its potential was probably no less than that of some dragon beasts. It was a rare species that had survived from the ancient, primeval era, already existing during the height of the Dragon Clan.

There were rumors that a powerful being at the Demon Emperor level had once emerged from the clan, but they had never been confirmed. They had produced Immortal Lords on several occasions, though. Even so, the clan was undeniably formidable.

Not long after the two left, two powerful members of the Yingyu clan began tailing them. They came from another direction, and Lu Xiaotian hadn't noticed them at first.
