The two generals who had Primordial Spirit bodies were one thing. The few surviving Daluo Golden Immortals owed their survival not only to their formidable strength, but even more to the battle formations they formed with their troops, which offset part of the Gengfiend Divine Needles' power.
Another reason was that this was the first time Lu Xiaotian had used them against an enemy, and he had to stay alert at all times for the threat posed by the Netherstar Immortal Lord behind him. That was how a few of the Daluo Golden Immortals managed to survive.
The others weren't so lucky. Against Lu Xiaotian, they were all but doomed the moment he touched them. He swept through them like a gale through a forest, and in the blink of an eye, more than half were dead or wounded.
The main force of the immortal army seemed to have suffered almost no losses, but Lu Xiaotian had carved away a portion of its true fighting strength.
Just as Lu Xiaotian was about to break out of the bulk of the immortal army, pillars of starlight formed outside once more. Stars sparkled across the void, as though a hand were plucking the strings of the heavens one by one.
A thread of starlight flowed among the densely clustered stars. With every star it passed, its power grew a little stronger.
By the time it had gathered power to its utmost, it shot toward Lu Xiaotian with irresistible force. Even with his current existence as a manifestation of the laws of nature, after several exchanges, the Netherstar Immortal Lord had still managed to pinpoint his exact location.
