The silver-armored woman, Di Yao, and Lu Xiaotian obediently stood before the Extermination Corpse Fiend when they heard him speak. They listened as he explained the method of refining corpses through burning. It was nothing more than controlling the heat used to burn the skeletons. The bones of the five black-robed skeletons had been broken apart, ignited with ghostfire, and burned until they turned into sinister corpse aura, which the bronze furnace absorbed and transferred into the bones of the Azure-Sky Ghost King.
The Azure-Sky Ghost King's bones were not as deathly pale as an ordinary skeleton's. They were somewhat translucent, like a skeleton carved from fine jade.
The Extermination Corpse Fiend explained quite a lot, but none of it was particularly unusual. Lu Xiaotian was growing impatient as he listened when he suddenly felt something stir beneath the ground. By the time he reacted, two streams of gray aura had emerged from the earth around his heels and crawled upward. In the blink of an eye, they had wrapped around both his legs.
The two streams of gray aura continued upward, binding Lu Xiaotian tightly.
Di Yao and the silver-armored woman cried out beside him, and they too were bound fast by the gray aura. It carried a strong stench of rotting corpses. There was no doubt that the Extermination Corpse Fiend was behind it.
"Senior, what are you doing? Why have you restrained the three of us?" the silver-armored woman demanded, shocked and furious as she stared at the Extermination Corpse Fiend. Of everyone present, only the old fiend had the ability to do this.
"Senior, release us at once!" Di Yao was also utterly shocked.
After releasing those three ropes of corpse aura, the Extermination Corpse Fiend looked even more dispirited.
