The slower man behind them, with a waxen-yellow complexion, let out a cry of alarm and swung his saber backward, cleaving at a beast claw reaching toward him.
Saber light flashed, and the beast claw, offering almost no defense, was severed in a single stroke. Yet the waxen-faced man showed no joy whatsoever. Instead, his face was filled with terror.

The man screamed miserably, then, when it emerged, it pulled out a blood-soaked heart and stuffed it into his mouth, swallowing it after a few wet chomps.
