Lu Xiaotian’s cultivation documents an unusual path into and through the Golden Core Realm.

Core Formation

• Basic process — Golden Core formation gathers a cultivator’s mana into a core within the dantian. It follows Foundation Establishment, which liquefies mana, and precedes Nascent Soul formation 778.
• Pills and materials — Gold Condensing Pills can help Foundation Establishment cultivators form a core. They are rare enough that most cultivators without exceptional aptitude risk remaining at Foundation Establishment for life 67 210.
• Tribulation — Forming a core also requires surviving the dangerous Golden Core Lightning Tribulation 269. Lu Xiaotian’s tribulation lasts several hours and consumes many of his defensive tools and formations 490.
• False core distinction — A Gold Weaving Pill can produce a false core, increasing strength and potentially extending lifespan, but it does not make its user a Golden Core cultivator and forfeits the path to a true Golden Core 223 325.

Lu Xiaotian’s Formation Core

• The Primordial Scripture’s Formation Pill method calls for one Gold Condensing Pill of each of the five elements, with a formation balancing their medicinal powers 227.
• Lu Xiaotian’s first, single-element attempt instead advances him to the tenth layer of Foundation Establishment 419. His later five-element attempt requires repeated trials because his meridians cannot initially contain the combined power 487 488.
• His completed core appears nine-colored: the five elemental powers transform into one another, creating intermediate colors. “Golden Core” names the realm, not a required core color 489.
• Its formation gives him greater Method Power and endurance than a normal Golden Core cultivator, though its benefits become clearer with further cultivation 506 575.

Capabilities and Limits

Core-Essence Artifacts

• Golden Core cultivators can absorb magical artifacts into their bodies and nurture them with core essence, Method Power, and Primordial Spirit. Longer nurturing and a stronger connection can increase an artifact’s power 492 778.
• Nurturing artifacts consumes core essence and demands Spiritual Sense, limiting how many a cultivator can maintain effectively 628.
• Newly formed cultivators may need years to stabilize their realms, strengthen their artifacts, and match those artifacts to their techniques before displaying their full combat ability 497.

Realm Difference

• Golden Core mana differs from Foundation Establishment mana in both quantity and purity; at Foundation Establishment’s second level, Lu Xiaotian doubts he could withstand even a casual Golden Core strike 183.
• Temporary methods can let a Foundation Establishment cultivator contend with a Golden Core opponent, but borrowed power cannot last like a Golden Core cultivator’s own strength 459 475.
• Early, Middle, and Late Stages remain meaningful divisions: Lu Xiaotian’s later advances increase his Method Power, while veteran cultivators can substantially outmatch newly formed ones 497 641 698.

Transition to Nascent Soul

• A Formation Core retains its five distinct elemental powers. Lu Xiaotian expects them to separate again when his core shatters during Nascent Soul formation, making the next breakthrough especially difficult 778.
• He prepares a Mysterious Nascent Soul Soul-Sealing Array to contain the impact of that shattering; he doubts even his ninth-tier physical body could withstand it without the array 928.
