Rumble, rumble, rumble!!!
Beyond the domain,
Within a stretch of mountains and earth,
The ground shook violently, and the cliff walls on both sides hummed and swayed. Amid the tremors, rocks split apart, and great swathes of stone and soil came tumbling down. From time to time came enormous cracking sounds, like something snapping apart!
All of a sudden,
With a thunderous crash,
A sharp Stone Peak jutting from the cliff on the left abruptly snapped. The massive boulder fell like a meteor striking the earth, carrying tens—perhaps hundreds—of tons of weight as it rumbled down toward the procession trudging through the valley!
Bang!!!
Between the mountains and valley,
The enormous boulder smashed viciously onto the head of a ferocious giant beast dozens of zhang tall. The force, enough to warp steel, struck its jet-black horned scales—yet the boulder itself exploded in an instant, shattering into countless pieces and crumbling into dust that drifted down.
Roar!!!
The giant beast shook its head, scattering dust as smoke and dust billowed around it. Its lantern-like eyes glared up at the sky, and it let out a dissatisfied roar that shook the valley apart!
But apart from rattling the cliffs and causing more broken stones to fall, it achieved nothing.
Just then,
A sharp whistle tore through the air,
A whip-shadow flashed past like lightning, lashing the giant beast's thick haunch. Even its densely packed scales bore a bloody red welt, with fine streams of dark-red blood trickling out.
Roar!!!
Suspended in mid-air,
A Demonic Beast with a green face and protruding fangs, its entire body pitch-black, wings on its back and a tail behind it, hovered in the air. Gripping a crimson whip, it roared at the giant beast.
That whip from just now had been the work of this black shadow
