Lin Yue walked into the kitchen and reached into the sink beside her. With a burst of strength, she lifted out a huge slab of ribs.
Hermione walked in and saw what was happening. Her head tilted back slightly. She hadn't thought much of it while the ribs were still frozen.
Now that they had thawed, though, the sheer size of the slab was truly shocking.
Lin Yue looked up at the knives hanging above her, then paused.
There was no cleaver. After looking over all the knives, Lin Yue reached her conclusion.
She had also finished assessing the knives. In short, not one of them was suitable for chopping the ribs apart.
Lowering her gaze to the huge slab of ribs on the cutting board, Lin Yue reached out and grabbed both ends of one rib.
Hermione blinked and watched Lin Yue with a puzzled look. Wasn't Lin Yue supposed to chop the ribs into smaller pieces? What was she doing?
Crack... crack. At the faint sound of bones breaking, Hermione's eyes widened. No way. Surely Lin Yue wasn't going to do what she thought she was. That would be a little too unbelievable.
But the very next moment, exactly what Hermione had imagined happened. With a crisp snap, the rib in Lin Yue's hands broke in two.
Lin Yue took down one of the knives and easily cut through the meat and skin still connecting the pieces. The rib was now completely split in half.
Hermione swallowed, her gaze drifting involuntarily to Lin Yue's slender, long fingers. Lin Yue's strength... was she really that strong?
You'd never have guessed from looking at her. She was so thin, after all. What on earth did she do in her spare time to develop such a powerful grip and upper-body strength?
