[Absolute Gun Sense][Danger Sense][Basic Knife Sense]
Two green orbs and one white orb floated in his mind. Qin Tian could see them from a very peculiar perspective, much like the "inner vision" described in martial arts novels.
But honestly, after absorbing the three Talent Orbs, Qin Tian didn't feel any changes in his body. Perhaps these talents would only reveal their true effects once he handled guns and knives and entered the battlefield.
After that, Qin Tian went back to carrying corpses, but he didn't absorb any new Talent Orbs before the transport vehicle left.
"What a shame."
Qin Tian lowered his eyes and stood ramrod straight in formation.
The three talents were pretty good, especially [Absolute Gun Sense] and [Danger Sense]. They could make him an outstanding machine gunner or sniper on the battlefield, but they still couldn't free him from his cannon fodder status. At best, he'd be a somewhat useful piece of cannon fodder.
Rattle, rattle~~
Just then, another large transport truck came driving up in the distance.
"Raymond, good thing your men haven't left yet."
Another officer jumped down from the vehicle and said with a laugh:
"Help me take this batch of Green-skinned Orcs inside too. My soldiers think they're too filthy and don't want to touch them. Let these clones handle it."
Raymond asked first:
"How are things at the front?"
The officer fell silent for a moment, his expression grave.
"Not good. We still haven't taken the Golan Heights, and our regiment has suffered heavy losses. If things keep going this way, we may have no choice but to abandon the mission and retreat to Scorching Sun Valley."
"Train this batch of cannon fodder well. We'll be attacking the Golan Heights again in three days, and that's when they'll be put to use."
"Understood."
Raymond nodded silently.
Clack~
A giant mechanical claw lowered corpse after corpse, each one as big as a small hill. These were the Green-skinned Orcs the Legion had mentioned.
They were tall and powerfully built, with an average height far greater than that of humans. Their faces were green, their fangs bared, and their muscles bulged like the intertwined roots of ancient trees, radiating a savage, primitive strength.
Their coarse skin was a nauseating dark green, as if covered in a layer of moss corroded over many years. It was pitted and uneven, covered in scars and sores, and gave off waves of pungent stench.
Qin Tian lowered his head and pressed his lips together, forcibly suppressing the urge to retch. The Orcs smelled worse than a cesspit that had been fermenting for a month.
"Four to a group. Carry them inside."
Raymond gave the order.
The clones formed groups of four, grabbed the Orcs by their limbs, lifted them, and carried the corpses into the barracks.
Qin Tian had picked his target early. He strode over to the corpse of the largest, most muscular Orc and grabbed its rough, broad hand.
Whoosh~
Two green orbs flew out of the Orc's body and entered Qin Tian.
[Name] Advanced Strength (Green) [Type] Passive Talent [Description] Greatly strengthens bones and muscles, enhancing explosive power, stamina, and resistance to impact.
[Name] Rapid Recovery (Green) [Type] Passive Talent [Description] Those with this talent have far greater cellular activity than ordinary people and possess strong self-healing abilities. Their resistance to various toxins is also greatly enhanced.
As soon as the two talents entered his body, Qin Tian immediately sensed it changing.
His bones cracked, and a faint ache spread through him, as if he were being hammered into shape. His muscle fibers grew tougher, like steel wires, and even his skin seemed to tighten.
"Phew. I finally got what I need to stay alive."
Qin Tian's eyes flashed. These were the two talents he'd wanted most.
Advanced Strength would enhance his physical abilities to a whole new level.
Rapid Recovery would give him powerful healing abilities. Even if he were injured, he could regain his fighting strength in a relatively short time.
With these two talents as a foundation, along with the support of [Danger Sense], his chances of surviving on the battlefield would increase greatly.
Qin Tian and the other three clones lifted the Orc corpse and walked slowly toward the barracks. The entire way, Qin Tian quietly observed the other clones.
Every clone had a different appearance, and they varied in height too. They were clearly not made from a single template. But they all shared the same cold, blank expressions, like emotionless robots.
That was only natural, though.
After all, each clone's memory contained only a very short stream of information. They didn't know joy, anger, sorrow, or happiness, let alone fear. Perhaps their emotions only stirred when they heard something related to the Empire.
Qin Tian imitated the other clones' expressions, keeping his face cold the entire time. His disguise was flawless.
Now he finally understood why so many male actors with poor acting skills debuted as aloof, handsome heartthrobs: acting cold was incredibly easy.
Thud~
The Orc corpse hit the ground hard. Qin Tian hurried back to see if he could get his hands on another one.
However, they hadn't brought many Orc corpses, and by the time he returned, they had all been carried away.
Seeing this, he could only sigh inwardly.
"Fall in!"
Raymond raised his right hand and shouted in a deep voice.
The Clone Legion quickly assembled and followed Raymond to their first training ground.
The shooting range.
The Green-skinned Orcs and the clones were cannon fodder created using different technologies by the Orc Empire and the Galactic Empire, respectively.
The Green-skinned Orcs were physically powerful, but not very bright.
The clones had normal intelligence and were calm and obedient, but their physical abilities were somewhat weaker.
These differences meant that the two groups were trained in completely different ways.
The Green-skinned Orcs were difficult to communicate with, so the Orc Empire kept them confined together. When they were about to go to battle, each Orc was given a Wolf Tooth Club and a suit of iron armor, then sent charging into the enemy ranks.
After the clones came off the production line, their Instructors took them to the shooting range for three to seven days of firearms training. They learned how to use their weapons and improved their accuracy.
On the battlefield, the clones would be responsible for suppressing enemy fire and eliminating as many Green-skinned Orcs as possible.
The thousands of clones were split into groups and sent to four large shooting ranges. After the Instructors demonstrated the fundamentals of shooting, each clone was given a Standard Rifle.
Contrary to Qin Tian's expectations, the Standard Rifle wasn't a laser weapon from a science fiction novel. It was a conventional firearm that used real bullets.
The moment Qin Tian touched the rifle, a strange feeling rose within him. The cold barrel felt like an extension of his body, every component under his control. With each breath, he could sense the rifle's pulse.
The stock rested firmly against his shoulder, as if it had become part of him, perfectly natural. His finger settled lightly on the trigger, and the sensation at his fingertip filled him with a confidence he couldn't put into words.
He narrowed his eyes slightly and looked through the sights. The whole world seemed to sharpen at that moment, and the target's center, dozens of meters away, grew enormous in his vision.
Bang!
The gun went off.
