"How do they perform?" Lin Zhichen asked. "Since we drew on designs from several civilizations, the Warp Drive technology is fairly mature.

"According to our design goals, a civilian Transport Ship should be able to jump a distance of around 50 to 100 light-years in a single leap," Xu Ping replied.

"The engine's cooldown is about 24 hours, and preparing for a jump takes 30 minutes. A forced jump can cut the preparation time to under five minutes, but carries a 30% chance of overloading and destroying the Warp Drive."

After hearing the figures, Lin Zhichen smiled and nodded. "Not bad. If it passes inspection, our Warp Drives will be on par with those of the established Super Civilizations."

He went on to ask, "I remember there's an expedited process for inspecting major projects like this?"

"That's right. After we submitted the application yesterday, the government and military started the expedited inspection process. They're preparing to build 3,000 engines of different models for a three-month testing period," Xu Ping replied.

"According to the government and military's procedures, the results should be out in three months."

"Are you confident?" he asked.

"Of course! We've put tremendous effort into this project, and we're confident it'll pass on the first try!" Xu Ping replied.

Lin Zhichen nodded with satisfaction. With that attitude, even if they didn't succeed the first time, they'd get there on the second or third. The Empire had plenty of patience.
