Tark murmured to himself strangely. Unbeknownst to him, his once-healthy body was gradually rotting. Green pestilence swirled around him, his outer skin cracked apart, and maggot-like worms crawled in and out, until the first fist-sized fly began buzzing around him.
He felt none of the pain of his body rotting, and didn't even notice how disgusting and bizarre he looked. Almost unconsciously, he grabbed a maggot and stuffed it into his mouth, refusing to let go. A hole quietly split open in his belly, like another enormous mouth.
"Great Father~" he murmured as he walked toward the steps. "I must spread the Great Father's love to more suffering people."
When the door opened, a rotting plague zombie stood before them. The horrifying sight sent the colonists stumbling backward.
The plague flies buzzed through the air as a greenish haze gradually spread. Before anyone noticed, the pestilence had already begun to reach a wider area.
"We're too late!" An Exorcist Priest looked up at the colony. He had just disembarked from the Starport battleship, and the keen senses granted to him by the Emperor had immediately pinpointed the source of evil.
"The colony is being consumed by a plague of dark power. We have to hurry!"
"Your Excellency Governor, we need a flying car—and fast!" The leading Inquisitor looked at the Governor and the officials who had come to greet them, his voice urgent.
"Quickly! The Chaos God's minions are spreading. We don't have much time!"
"Uh, all right. I'll arrange it immediately!" The Governor and the officials were stunned. The Imperium obviously wouldn't openly publicize the names of the Four Chaos Gods, so they didn't yet understand how serious the situation was. But at the urging of the Imperium's special envoys, they still prepared to find several flying cars.
