Fighting as they built, Murak soon discovered, to his amazement, that even as the Orc fleet suffered devastating losses, the tireless efforts of countless Orc Technicians were visibly bringing battered warships back into shape. Orcs who had survived in space piloted them, wobbling as they continued their attack on the Necron Fleet.
It was like a game of building blocks in space. Murak watched as a Battle Moon over 5,000 kilometers in diameter was focused on by more than a dozen World Engines during its charge. It exploded, torn apart into thousands upon thousands of pieces of wreckage.
Then, in just an hour or two, countless surviving Orcs hammered and welded together five Orc Battleships, which took shape at a visible pace. This battle group, reborn amid the wreckage, attacked the Necron Fleet again—only to be destroyed.
Several times as many medium and small Orc warships continued the assault. When those ships were destroyed, even smaller creations took their place: ramshackle Orc Gargants, Ork ground-combat Titans, or Orc bombers.
In the back-and-forth fighting, big ships were reduced to smaller ones, and the smaller ones were destroyed until only unusable fragments of metal remained. Soon, space was littered with granular metal debris. The battle had become a marathon, as fearless Orcs and the merciless Necron warships clashed, the flashes of exploding ships flaring across space again and again.
After a week of fighting, the Orc Empire, caught up in the war, had fully awakened. Countless greenskins soared skyward in their distinctive war machines, heading for outer space. They boarded warships that still retained some warmth and plunged into the blood-pumping "WAAAGH!" battlefield.
When this nation, already devoted to war, encountered an opponent worthy of fighting, the Orcs truly showed what it meant to be a warrior people.
