Power Progression

Nature and Development

Vassals are nurtured on a Star Lord’s Natal Star. Their reproduction, intelligence, and extraordinary advancement strengthen the star’s origin and Great Dao, contributing to the Dao Fruit that the Star Lord cultivates. The Star Lord, in turn, develops the star and supplies the vassals with inheritances, skills, and resources 7.

A vassal bloodline can differ markedly from its starting form. Liang Ji’s records first classify his vassals as mutated Half-Demon Snake People; they develop as Half-Dragonfolk under the influence of his Dragon Soul. Peng Yue’s Ice Soul Serpentfolk and Fang Xiaohan’s Shadow Serpentfolk demonstrate different bloodlines and battlefield specialties 3 7 11. Not every increase in tier brings intelligence: one of Liang Ji’s beast-form vassals reaches Second Tier without showing signs of awakening wisdom 880.

Early Natal Star vassals have limited wisdom and creativity compared with humans. Liang Ji therefore guides his Half-Dragonfolk in establishing religion, agriculture, leadership, and warfare, and provides the inheritances needed to develop their bloodline and combat skills 7. Improved Spirit Veins, food, living conditions, and education later raise their rate of awakening and advancement 64 109.

Society

• Religion and leadership: Xi, Liang Ji’s first intelligent vassal, becomes a shaman and leads worship of Liang Ji as the Heavenly Emperor. The Half-Dragonfolk also establish political, economic, and military leadership under King, Mu—later called Nong—and Chi 7 11.
• Inherited titles: Xi, King, Nong, and Chi become titles passed to later leaders rather than names belonging only to the original four 11.
• Settlements and education: Population growth leads to village divisions and new leaders. Dragon Soul Academy later provides formal education in place of earlier teaching around the Heavenly Emperor Temple 43 109.
• Specialized work: Half-Dragonfolk develop roles including Rune Masters, Spirit Architects, historians, and artificers. Their society also develops class and wealth distinctions and competition for leadership posts 43 61 64 150.
• Political divisions: Liang Ji’s vassal bloodlines later split into competing clans and fight over territory and resources. The Half-Dragonfolk clan is the first to surrender when he begins a renewed unification campaign 340 450.

Abilities & Skills

Bloodline Cultivation

A vassal must awaken its bloodline and intelligence to advance and undertake further cultivation. Liang Ji’s Half-Dragonfolk cultivate the Snake Barbarian Scripture, but their mutated bloodline produces a Hegemonic Body rather than the scripture’s intended Barbarian Body 11 24.

• The Hegemonic Body emphasizes brute strength, physical defense, and resistance to attributes such as poison, ice, and fire 24 47.
• At the documented First-Tier stage, its Half-Dragonfolk practitioners cannot wield elemental damage through their bloodline power or activate runes that require it 47.
• Other lineages have different strengths: Chao Feng retainers can fly and control wind, while Ya Zi retainers control metal and specialize in tracking and combat 151.

Bloodline Divine Abilities

Bloodline Divine Ability Spirit Seeds can grant corresponding abilities to a Star Lord’s vassals. Liang Ji’s Half-Dragonfolk acquire Size as Desired after refining an incomplete Heavenly Law Manifestation Spirit Seed 75 81 145.

• Size as Desired lets Half-Dragonfolk warriors enlarge their bodies; its effect and duration improve as their bloodline advances 81 145.
• First-Tier Rune Artifacts do not resize with the user, creating an equipment problem until size-changing Magic Tools become available 81 150.
• The ability benefits close-combat lineages more than lineages focused on spells 152.
• Liang Ji’s Half-Dragonfolk later awaken Invert Yin Yang, helping one warrior reclaim the title of Chi from a Ya Zi challenger 267.

Combat and Crafting

• Vassal forces can specialize by bloodline. In one trial, Liang Ji’s Half-Dragonfolk handle frontal assaults, Peng Yue’s Ice Soul Serpentfolk provide ranged support, and Fang Xiaohan’s Shadow Serpentfolk scout and assassinate 12 13.
• Star Lords provide inheritances and designs, but vassals forge their own equipment on their Natal Stars. Liang Ji’s Half-Dragonfolk progress from ordinary axes and shields to Rune Artifacts and, later, Magic Tools 12 40 150.
• At higher tiers, Liang Ji’s retainers combine Bloodline Divine Abilities and elemental powers with battle formations and flying boats. They eventually forge Sixth-Tier Dragon Beast Starships suited to their respective bloodlines 607 668 995.

Relationships

• Star Lords — nurture and direct their vassals, supplying cultivation inheritances and deploying them in battle; vassal development in turn contributes to the Star Lord’s Natal Star and Dao Fruit 7.
• Liang Ji — guides multiple vassal bloodlines, beginning with the Half-Dragonfolk of Dragon Soul Star, and later works to reunify their divided clans 7 151 450.
• Peng Yue and Fang Xiaohan’s vassals — fight alongside Liang Ji’s Half-Dragonfolk in complementary ranged-support and scouting roles 11 12 13.
