Power Progression
The documented progression below concerns Liang Ji’s Natal Star, later referred to as the Dragon Soul Star.
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Mortal-tier / newly awakened | 1 | Initially unnamed, 333 km in diameter, composed of 77% earth and 23% metal; it possessed no Spirit Vein, Retainers, or Dao Fruit. |
| Fourth-Tier (80%) | 702 | Its Spirit Veins reached 80% of the Fourth Tier after refining eighty Fourth-Tier Void Mirage Demon Cores; its Dao Fruit required a minimum 48% strength to avoid backlash. |
| Fifth-Tier (1%) | 721 | Advanced after refining its first Fifth-Tier Void Golden Eagle Demon Core, making Liang Ji a Fifth-Tier Star Lord. |
| Fifth-Tier Perfection | 916 | Reached perfection after fifteen years under the Dragon Pearl’s Light of Creation, enabling Liang Ji to proceed toward the Sixth-Tier stage. |
| Sixth-Tier | 1069 | Confirmed as a Sixth-Tier Star while Liang Ji prepared to refine a Seventh-Tier Void Azure Ox Demon Core. |
| Seventh-Tier (2%) | 1134 | Its Spirit Vein reached 2% of the Seventh Tier after absorbing and refining another Seventh-Tier Void Azure Ox Demon Core. |
| Eighth-Tier | 1319 | Swallowed and refined an Eighth-Tier Void Jade Rabbit Demon Core, expanding in size, mass, and Origin and beginning Dao Integration. |
| Ninth-Tier (13%) | 1630 | Grew from 9% to 13% during Liang Ji’s two-hundred-year seclusion. |
| Ninth-Tier (50%) | 1713 | Reached the halfway point of Ninth-Tier cultivation while receiving Saint Power, Star Domain Origin, and Cosmic Creation Power. |
Formation and Early Development
A Natal Star begins as a dead star refined by an aspiring Star Lord through the Celestial Star Array Diagram. Star Alliance citizens receive one free attempt at age eighteen; success establishes the Star Lord’s connection to the star and begins their Heavenly Immortal cultivation path 1.
Newly refined Natal Stars are barren, lacking atmosphere, water, and life. The Celestial Star Array Diagram manifests an external sun, moon, stars, and a life-sustaining void environment around them, allowing dead stars to develop into Life Stars and Spirit Vein Stars 2 459 525.
Time Acceleration
The Celestial Star Array Diagram can accelerate a Natal Star’s internal time flow, though its influence declines sharply as the Star rises in tier 3.
| Natal Star Tier | Maximum Time Acceleration |
|---|---|
| Mortal-tier | 10,000 years per day |
| First-Tier | 1,000 years per day |
| Second-Tier | 100 years per day |
| Third-Tier | 10 years per day |
| Fourth-Tier | 1 year per day |
| Fifth-Tier | 1 month per day |
| Sixth-Tier and above | Generally beyond the Diagram’s ability to accelerate 3 |
Functions
Cultivation Foundation
A Natal Star is the source of a Star Lord’s Star Power, Origin, Great Dao laws, and Dao Fruit. As long as the Natal Star remains intact, a depleted Star Lord can rapidly replenish their power through its continuous support 576.
- Retainers strengthen the Natal Star’s Origin, Great Dao, and Dao Fruit through their existence, intelligence, extraordinary abilities, and advancement 7.
- A stronger Natal Star directly raises the Star Lord’s available power, Origin, and control over laws 1349.
- A Star Lord’s physical body, True Qi, and soul leave imprints in the Natal Star’s Origin; with the Starry Sky Undying technique, these imprints can be gathered for rebirth even after death and soul annihilation 473.
Demon Core Refinement
Natal Stars grow by refining Void Demon Race Demon Cores, which are absorbed into their Spirit Veins and converted into Star Origin, Spirit Vein strength, and higher rank 761 1319.
- Formations built within the star can speed up Demon Core refinement 721.
- Retainer deities can regulate laws, order, and Origin to assist refinement 721.
- A Star Spirit Primordial Embryo is a manifestation of the Natal Star’s Spirit Veins and Origin; briefly manifesting it as a Star Spirit further accelerates refinement 721.
- The Dragon Soul coiled around Liang Ji’s Natal Star refines incoming materials and Demon Cores before planting them in the Star’s Spirit Veins 1134 1319.
Natal Star Projection
High-tier Star Lords can project a phantom of their Natal Star into battle. The projection fights with the Natal Star’s Origin and Great Dao laws, making it stronger than a Star Lord’s Law Body 630.
- The projection can extend the Natal Star’s starlight, force field, and Dao rhythm over an area 826.
- Liang Ji learned the technique early at the Fifth-Tier stage through the combined support of his Dragon Person Star Spirit and the Deification List 826.
- A more advanced Star Chart Projection projects the real celestial bodies of a completed Natal Star System and its Star Chart Great Formation; it normally requires at least perfected Seventh-Tier cultivation or an Eighth-Tier Star 630.
Dao Integration
When a Natal Star reaches the Eighth Tier, its Origin becomes powerful enough to draw its Star Lord into it for Dao Merging. The Star Lord and Natal Star are already fundamentally intertwined: “he was the Natal Star, and the Natal Star was him” 1319.
- The Dao Merging process is a life-or-death tribulation in which the Star Lord risks being assimilated by the Natal Star’s Origin and Great Dao laws 1320.
- Star Palace inheritances refined within the Natal Star’s Origin serve as anchors against Daoization 1320.
- Liang Ji delayed his own merging to add Eighth-Tier resources, accelerate their digestion, and ensure all ten Retainer lineages reached the Eighth Tier before entering the star in his true body 1320.
Origin, Stability, and Backlash
A Natal Star’s Origin must remain proportional to the strength of its Spirit Veins. If its Dao Fruit and Origin fall beneath the required threshold, the Natal Star suffers backlash 702.
- Liang Ji’s Fourth-Tier Spirit Veins at 80% required a Dao Fruit baseline of 48%; falling below that point would trigger backlash 702.
- Severe Origin deficits cause disasters and unrest in both the star’s Yang Realm and Nine Springs Underworld 664.
- Retainers, Ghost Gods, Earth Deities, formations, and Natal Artifacts can suppress local instability while the Star Lord restores Origin 664.
- Liang Ji restored depleted Origin by using Deification List projections to plunder Origin from external Life Stars 664 702.
Natal Star Systems
After Seventh-Tier Star Lords complete Void Refinement, the illusory celestial bodies surrounding their Natal Star can be transformed into real stars and arranged into a defensive Natal Star System 630 1069.
Protection and Concealment
Before a system is refined, the Celestial Star Array Diagram conceals, isolates, and protects a Natal Star from hostile forces. Only its owner may open this protection; even other Ninth-Rank Star Lords cannot enter without permission 1248.
- The protection prevents enemies from locating and directly destroying an immature Natal Star 1248.
- If the Star Lord dies, the Celestial Star Array Diagram automatically opens the protection; the Star Alliance may then take over the star, though it will usually decay back into a dead star 1248.
- A completed Natal Star System examines incoming external objects and blocks substances that could harm the Natal Star 1319.
Nine Suns Star System
Liang Ji’s Natal Star is located on the frontier of the Manggu Star Domain and is protected by the Nine Suns Star System 1255.
- The system contains nine Stars with different attributes, creating suitable conditions for distinct life forms, resources, mineral veins, and Retainer territories 1253.
- It defended the Natal Star against an Eighth-Rank Void Demon Race attacker, which failed to breach the system and was killed instead 1255.
- It can accelerate the Natal Star’s time flow, speeding Demon Core digestion, Retainer cultivation, and recovery, but requires immense Origin and Star System power to sustain 1255 1270.
- Liang Ji used unrestricted Three Lights Heavenly Dew supplied through Star Alliance authority to replenish the Origin consumed by time acceleration 1270 1294.
- During Cosmic Creation, the nine Stars were shifted from a regular Nine Palaces arrangement into an irregular formation, improving the system’s operation, Light of Creation, and temporal control 1366.
Star Palace Inheritances
Liang Ji integrated three Star Palace inheritances into his Natal Star’s Origin: the Deification List, Myriad Laws Furnace, and Bloodline Atlas. Multiple inheritances normally conflict over a Natal Star’s Origin and laws, making such fusion highly dangerous 944.
| Inheritance | Influence on the Natal Star |
|---|---|
| Deification List | Enfeoffs deities and uses them to regulate the Natal Star’s Origin, fundamental laws, and Great Dao order. |
| Myriad Laws Furnace | Controls elemental Origin and elemental laws; strengthens elemental veins and formations. |
| Bloodline Atlas | Influences living beings, bloodlines, and bloodline laws, making the star’s ecosystem stronger and more dragon-like. |
The Bloodline Atlas transformed Liang Ji’s Natal Star into a wilder, more powerful, dragon-like world: Retainers gained stronger bloodlines, spirit plants developed scale-like bark, beasts grew dragon horns, fish grew whiskers, and birds grew dragon claws 944.
After Liang Ji became an Eighth-Tier Star Lord, all three inheritances advanced to the Eighth Tier using the Origin, laws, and power of the entire Nine Suns Star System. Their influence expanded beyond the Natal Star to every Life Star, planet, and inhabitant within the system 1367.
Documented Features of Liang Ji’s Natal Star
- Initially measured 333 kilometers in diameter and consisted of 77% earth and 23% metal 1.
- Later known as the Dragon Soul Star, with a Dragon Soul permanently coiled around it 3 1249.
- Dragon Head Mountain is its core sacred land, the birthplace of its Retainers and the origin of its Spirit Veins and Earth Veins 664.
- Its Yang Realm and Nine Springs Underworld are maintained through balanced enfeoffment of Earth Deities and Ghost Gods 760.
- The Thirty-Three Layer Heaven and Earth Profound Yellow Exquisite Pagoda is its Natal Artifact, integrating the power of the star’s Underworld, Retainer bloodlines, elemental forces, and eventually its Heavenly Realm 372.
- The Dragon Pearl’s Light of Creation expanded its continents, oceans, heavens, and Star Origin; Experiment Island in the East Sea developed into a subcontinent inhabited by mutated and beast-form Retainers 903.
- At Ninth Rank, its qualitative growth formed a third continent where it had previously possessed only two 1534.
