463. Haotian Re-establishes the Heavenly Court, the Four Spirits of Heaven Return to Their Positions
"..."
Haotian and Yaochi exchanged another look, each seeing the other's helplessness reflected in their eyes.
The great hall was terrifyingly silent. No one dared say another word; they could only lower their heads and let that icy gaze sweep over them.
Three days later, Lingxiao Treasure Hall had been moved from the Sun Star to above the Thirty-three Heavens.
Haotian wore the Nine-Dragon Sun-Devouring Imperial Robe, its bright yellow brocade embroidered with nine Five-Clawed Golden Dragons, their golden threads glinting coldly beneath the heavenly light.
Yet on him, the overly large imperial robe hung loose and empty, unable to support even half a shred of imperial majesty.
He wore a Flat Sky Crown, its twelve jade tassels hanging before his eyes and swaying faintly, concealing his pale complexion.
Yaochi wore a phoenix robe embroidered with a hundred birds paying homage to the phoenix, seated upright in the phoenix chair beside him.
The two sat side by side, on equal footing, yet the dragon throne beneath them was ice-cold, without the slightest warmth.
The great hall was utterly empty.
Only a few dozen minor immortals and Rogue Cultivators stood below, each one hunched and furtive, not daring to raise their heads.
These people had either offended great clans or great divine powers within the Primordial World, or had become stuck at their current cultivation realm without making the slightest progress. With nowhere else to turn, they had come to seek refuge in the Heavenly Court while clutching onto a sliver of hope.
As for the true great divine powers, let alone coming in person, not one had even sent a disciple or follower with a congratulatory gift.
"Heh."
Haotian's gaze swept over the sparse crowd below, and a smile uglier than weeping tugged at the corner of his mouth.
