Ch. 182Fu Xi Urges Him to Ascend, Primordial Heavenly Emperor

Xuan Yin severed his karmic ties to the Yuanshi Imprint, while Primordial Heavenly Venerate explained to Fu Xi how the Investiture of the Gods List could be overcome. Fu Xi proposed that Primordial Heavenly Venerate become the Primordial Heavenly Emperor, and the chapter ended with him bringing Xuan Yin to meet the Sage.

  • Xuan Yin used Dao Cannot Be Discussed and the Luotian Auspicious Clouds to sever his connection to the Yuanshi Imprint, angering the Exposition Sect Golden Immortals.
  • Primordial Heavenly Venerate explained four ways to free cultivators bound by the Investiture of the Gods List and gave Fu Xi a strand of Heaven-Opening Sword Qi.
  • Fu Xi urged Primordial Heavenly Venerate to become the Primordial Heavenly Emperor, suggesting he take Haotian's identity after Haotian perished and rule through authority rather than destiny.
  • Primordial Heavenly Venerate agreed to consider Fu Xi's proposal if Haotian died and the Human Dao Divine Dynasty remained strong, then accepted Fu Xi's suggestion to discuss changes with Xuan Yin.
  • Fu Xi brought Xuan Yin to Jade Void Palace, telling him that a Dao enemy could sometimes become a Dao friend.

Ch. 183Setting Things Right, Outsmarting Him with Principle

Xuan Yin explained to Primordial Heavenly Venerate how the Chan and Jie Sects’ teachings complemented each other and warned that this epoch’s new Variables could make the Investiture of the Gods tribulation far more dangerous. He left Primordial Heavenly Venerate facing the possibility that Sect Master Tongtian might intervene without restraint, while Xuan Yin argued the Jie Sect had little left to lose.

  • Xuan Yin told Primordial Heavenly Venerate that the Chan and Jie Sects’ Great Dao principles complemented one another, and Primordial Heavenly Venerate praised his interpretation to the Exposition Sect disciples.
  • Primordial Heavenly Venerate urged the Exposition Sect disciples to learn from other lineages, and Guang Chengzi and Chi Jingzi went to the Myriad Realms Trading Platform to study the Jie Sect’s Heaven Intercepting Nine Swords.
  • Primordial Heavenly Venerate asked Xuan Yin about the Investiture of the Gods tribulation, and Xuan Yin said he hoped the sect struggle would not damage either sect’s foundations.
  • Xuan Yin warned Primordial Heavenly Venerate that new Variables, including Empress Houtu, Empress Nuwa, and Sect Master Tongtian, could change the outcome of the tribulation.
  • Primordial Heavenly Venerate threatened to enter the fray if Sect Master Tongtian attacked his disciples, but Xuan Yin countered that the Jie Sect had little left to lose.

Ch. 184Yingsheng, God of Demons, Twelve Years Born Anew

Xuan Yin left Primordial Heavenly Venerate with no firm promise to spare Jie Sect, then helped Fu Xi seek a way to free Ying Zhao from the Investiture of the Gods List. Fu Xi considered asking Demon God Ye Ming for help but feared involving her unborn Twelve Zodiac Animals and the hidden fate of Dijun’s daughters, leaving Xuan Yin to suggest asking Ye Ming directly.

  • Primordial Heavenly Venerate said whether he would spare Jie Sect depended on how many vacant positions remained on the Investiture of the Gods List, and Xuan Yin left with Fu Xi.
  • Fu Xi explained the four methods for freeing immortals and gods from the list and said he would try the fourth method first, then the second and third, reserving the first as a last resort.
  • Fu Xi learned that Ying Zhao held the Jiazi Tai Sui position and considered Ye Ming, a cultivator of the Time Great Dao, as a possible helper.
  • Fu Xi hesitated to involve Ye Ming because she carried the Twelve Zodiac Animals, and he worried that the current turmoil might also endanger Dijun’s Twelve Yao Princesses, who he suspected were in her care.
  • Fu Xi speculated that Eastern Emperor Taiyi might return, prompting Xuan Yin to realize that Dijun and Taiyi could have made their own plans beyond their apparent deaths.
  • Xuan Yin suggested that Fu Xi ask Ye Ming directly, since Ying Zhao still needed to be saved.

Ch. 185Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches, Ten Great Spirit Shamans

Xuan Yin agreed to help Yeming free Ying Zhao from the Investiture of the Gods List and arranged for her unborn Twelve Years Old to become his Auxiliary Gods in exchange for resources. He then learned that ten Great Spirit Witches connected to his past actions would soon be born, and Zhu Jiuyin revealed that Xuan Yin’s karma with the Wu Clan might grant him another Wu Clan Incarnation.

  • Fu Xi brought Xuan Yin to Kun Dun Immortal Mountain to ask Yeming to help Ying Zhao break free from the Investiture of the Gods List.
  • Yeming agreed to make her twelve unborn children Xuan Yin’s Auxiliary Gods if he advanced his Divine Dao authority and supplied resources for their birth.
  • Xuan Yin offered spiritual fruits and treasures, then showed Yeming the Nine Great Golden Crows’ former bodies and revealed that the princes had reincarnated as Witch Teachings disciples.
  • Yeming told Xuan Yin that ten Spirit Witches would soon be born, and Xuan Yin realized that his own essence blood and the Sixth Golden Crow’s fortune were connected to them.
  • Zhu Jiuyin met Xuan Yin outside Pangu Hall and explained that the Ten Great Spirit Witches had been nurtured through the fortune associated with the Sixth Golden Crow, while hinting that Xuan Yin might gain a Wu Clan Incarnation.

Ch. 186Self-Imposed Entrapment, Dao Dyeing Power

Xuan Yin discovered that Luohu had used a drop of his essence blood to bind him to the Demonic Dao and arrange for him to inherit Luohu’s Dao Fruit. After confronting Luohu, Xuan Yin learned that becoming Second Generation Luohu could both shackle him and speed his cultivation, leaving him to weigh the consequences.

  • Xuan Yin recognized that his Wu Clan incarnation had become Wu Luo and asked Zhu Jiuyin to look after him while he investigated Luohu’s influence.
  • Xuan Yin traced his essence-blood drops through time and discovered that one had merged with Luohu’s Demonic Dao destiny at Mount Sumeru during the Dragon-Han Era.
  • Xuan Yin realized Luohu had turned that drop into a karmic link and used his other essence-blood drops to bind Xuan Yin to additional destinies and relationships.
  • Xuan Yin contacted Luohu, who admitted arranging the karmic ties so Xuan Yin could inherit his Dao Fruit.
  • Luohu argued that inheriting his Dao Fruit could shorten Xuan Yin’s cultivation path, and Xuan Yin acknowledged that the arrangement might offer advantages despite its shackles.

Ch. 187Copying a Tiger by Drawing a Cat, Catching Them Off Guard

Xuan Yin learned that Luohu’s karmic ties could provide the White Emperor manifestation and a path to understand He Transforms Freely, but the Asura Path could not support his goal of gaining further validations. After Luohu’s manifestation disturbed the White Emperor Dao Fruit, Bai Zhao Ju and others investigated the losses affecting the Five Directional Heavenly Emperors’ Dao Fruits and suspected the original Five Emperors.

  • Xuan Yin objected that Luohu’s Dao Dyeing had disrupted his plans, and Luohu explained that only major cultivation paths could support four or five validations.
  • Luohu told Xuan Yin to inherit the King of Worldly Freedom Buddha position to understand He Transforms Freely, then gave him a White Emperor manifestation from his own former Dao Fruit.
  • Xuan Yin reflected on how deduction could uncover intentions through others’ karmic traces and decided to vary his actions instead of relying on the Luotian Auspicious Clouds.
  • Bai Zhao Ju sensed the White Emperor Dao Fruit’s change in fortune and wondered whether a new being compatible with it had appeared.
  • Bai Zhao Ju, Huan Shu Niu, and Chi Xiao Nu compared their losses of fortune in the Five Directional Heavenly Emperors’ Dao Fruits, while Zhi Guang Ji remained unaffected.
  • Huan Shu Niu suggested that the original Five Emperors might be behind the changes to the Dao Fruits.

Ch. 188Meeting on a Narrow Road, A Thought to Slay the Black Emperor

Huan Shu Niu, Chi Xiao Nu, Bai Zhao Ju, and Zhi Guang Ji went to the East Sea to investigate whether the First Five Emperors threatened their dao fruits, but encountered Xuan Yin. Xuan Yin killed Zhi Guang Ji and drove Bai Zhao Ju to flee, leaving him fighting Huan Shu Niu and Chi Xiao Nu.

  • Huan Shu Niu persuaded the others to investigate the Dragon Race and Ancestor Dragon, and the four traveled to the East Sea.
  • Xuan Yin arrived seeking Ancestor Dragon, and Chi Xiao Nu immediately attacked him over their past grievances.
  • Xuan Yin used a feint against Huan Shu Niu and Chi Xiao Nu to secretly target Zhi Guang Ji with the God-Slaying Flying Knife, killing him and sending his true spirit to the Investiture of the Gods List.
  • Chi Xiao Nu and Huan Shu Niu attacked Xuan Yin in fury, while Xuan Yin revealed that he could use Yuanfeng's Fire Origin Dao Fruit and withstand their assaults with the Luotian Auspicious Clouds.
  • Xuan Yin countered the three men's attacks with Immeasurable Tribulation Light, wounded them, then struck at Bai Zhao Ju with the Primordial Magnet Divine Light Sword.
  • Bai Zhao Ju abandoned his physical body, attached his primordial spirit to his Innate Spiritual Sword, and fled tens of millions of miles away.

Ch. 189Expanding Authority, Changing Causes and Rewriting Effects

Xuan Yin defeated the Five Directional Heavenly Emperors’ forces, then used the captured Dao Fruit manifestations to strengthen his Divine Path Dao Fruit and planned how to gain Heavenly Dao recognition by governing the Primordial World’s Five Elements. He went to Ersian Mountain to recruit True Person Huang Long as Mount Kunlun’s mountain god, but Huang Long suspected a trap and moved to protect Ma Gu.

  • Bai Zhao Ju escaped after Xuan Yin’s attacks, while Huan Shu Niu and Chi Xiao Nu fled toward the Heavenly Court and suspected Xuan Yin had intercepted their Dao Fruit manifestations.
  • Xuan Yin returned to Golden Ao Island and integrated the Five Directional Heavenly Emperors’ manifestations with the Five-Needle Pine to weave his Divine Path Dao Fruit.
  • Xuan Yin realized he needed the Heavenly Dao’s recognition and planned to enfeoff the Ten Heavenly Stems and Twelve Earthly Branches as Auxiliary Gods.
  • Xuan Yin considered candidates to govern Mount Kunlun and Mount Sumeru, then chose True Person Huang Long as the best fit for Mount Kunlun.
  • Xuan Yin visited True Person Huang Long and Ma Gu at Ersian Mountain Magu Cave and offered Huang Long a fortunate opportunity.
  • True Person Huang Long distrusted Xuan Yin’s offer because of the Chan and Jie Sects’ rivalry and stepped back to shield Ma Gu.

Ch. 190Turning Kunlun Upside Down, The Best of Both Worlds

Xuan Yin persuaded True Person Huang Long to become Mount Kunlun’s mountain god by helping him comprehend the Overturning Kunlun Divine Ability, then secured Ma Gu’s Wind God authority and Zhao Gongming’s agreement to consider her as an Auxiliary God. He traveled to Bozhong Mountain to offer Ksitigarbha the position of Mount Sumeru’s mountain god, while privately considering how Ksitigarbha’s Great Vow could help him cultivate a Reward Body.

  • Xuan Yin explained his plan to regulate the Primordial True Realm’s origins through Buzhou Mountain and its auxiliary mountain gods, and offered Huang Long the Mount Kunlun position and a Divine Dao fruit.
  • Xuan Yin demonstrated the Buzhou Mountain Divine Ability, prompting Huang Long to combine the Sky-Turning Seal with the Wuji Seal and comprehend Overturning Kunlun.
  • Huang Long agreed to become Mount Kunlun’s mountain god, and Xuan Yin offered to ask Zhao Gongming whether Ma Gu could serve as an Auxiliary God.
  • Ma Gu gave Xuan Yin the western Wind God authority, and Zhao Gongming agreed to consider her for an Auxiliary God position.
  • Xuan Yin went to Bozhong Mountain and urged Ksitigarbha to become Mount Sumeru’s mountain god, offering Merit, Destiny, and a way to guide Western Teachings disciples.
  • Xuan Yin privately considered using Ksitigarbha’s Great Vow and an Innate Gourd to cultivate a Buddhist Reward Body and advance his Taiyi proof.

Ch. 191Unashamed to Ask, Stronger with Age (500 Monthly Votes Bonus Update)

Xuan Yin persuaded Ksitigarbha to trade away his Great Vow, then was summoned by Taishang Laojun and learned that the Power of Forgetting had affected him. Taishang revealed that Hongjun’s karma was divided among many possible inheritors, including the Heavenly Dao Sages.

  • Xuan Yin explained that he wanted Ksitigarbha to exchange the chance to make a Great Vow for Xuan Yin’s help, and Ksitigarbha agreed.
  • Jingnaluo worried that Ksitigarbha would leave him alone, so Xuan Yin promised his Reward Body would guard the Underworld with him.
  • Taishang Laojun summoned Xuan Yin to Shouyang Mountain and ordered the Golden Winged Great Peng to accompany him while helping sort out the Primordial World’s Yinyang origins.
  • Xuan Yin realized the Power of Forgetting had made him overlook Taishang Laojun’s authority over Yinyang, and asked Taishang to conceal their conversation.
  • Xuan Yin asked whether a Second Generation Hongjun could exist, and Taishang said Hongjun’s karma had no single inheritor and could involve the Sages and other powerful figures.
  • Taishang explained that Tongtian was least likely to inherit Hongjun’s Great Dao but might inherit Heavenly Dao karma, while Yuanshi and Taishang were also likely inheritors.

Ch. 192Fate Is Hard to Escape, Taiqing Resolves Doubts

Taishang Laojun explained the five great heavenly fates to Xuan Yin and revealed which Sages might inherit their karma. Xuan Yin traded three karmic debts for Taishang Laojun’s Purple-Gold Red Gourd, then learned Taishang Laojun already had a request for him.

  • Taishang Laojun explained fixed constants, variables, fortune, destiny, and tribulation, and Xuan Yin feared inheriting Luohu’s karma if he took Luohu’s Dao Fruit.
  • Taishang Laojun speculated that the Western Sages would inherit destiny, he would inherit Immortal Dao karma, and Haotian and Yaochi would inherit fortune.
  • Xuan Yin questioned whether Taishang Laojun had supported Primordial Heavenly Venerate to shift Immortal Dao karma onto him, and Taishang Laojun warned him not to be too clever.
  • Taishang Laojun ordered Xuan Yin to help the Golden Winged Great Peng break through to Great Luo, and Xuan Yin proposed that the Golden Winged Great Peng oversee Yinyang while Kong Xuan oversaw the Five Elements.
  • Xuan Yin asked to trade for the Purple-Gold Red Gourd, and Taishang Laojun agreed in exchange for three karmic debts that could not harm the Jie Sect or Xuan Yin’s Dao path.
  • After Xuan Yin swore the oath and received the gourd, Taishang Laojun immediately asked him to hear his request.

Ch. 193Tales of the Divine Way, A Clean Break in the Name of Justice

Taishang Laojun asked Xuan Yin to help restore the Human Sect’s standing and spread the Golden Core Great Dao, then tasked him with destroying Dao Ancestor Hongjun’s abandoned Divine Dao imprint. Xuan Yin learned why the imprint mattered to Haotian and Yuanshi, but balked at confronting an enemy far stronger than himself.

  • Taishang Laojun asked Xuan Yin to persuade Empress Nuwa to clear the Human Sect’s name and allow the Golden Core Great Dao to spread again, and Xuan Yin agreed.
  • Taishang Laojun told Xuan Yin to kill Hongjun’s imprint from the Age of Gods, and Xuan Yin protested that he could not face the Dao Ancestor.
  • Taishang Laojun explained that Hongjun had abandoned his Divine Dao identity, Di Hong, and buried its karmic imprint after establishing the Immortal Dao.
  • Taishang Laojun said Haotian and Yuanshi could not claim authority over the gods or the source of the law of Immortals and Gods while Di Hong’s imprint remained.
  • Xuan Yin asked why Taishang Laojun and Primordial Heavenly Venerate would not destroy the imprint themselves, and Taishang Laojun cited his master-disciple bond with Hongjun.
  • Taishang Laojun estimated that the imprint was stronger than a Two Corpses Quasi-Saint but weaker than a true Three Corpses Quasi-Saint, and Xuan Yin refused the task as beyond his abilities.

Ch. 194Advance by Retreat, Tongtian's Great Dao

Xuan Yin tried to delay Taishang Laojun’s demand that he erase the Dao Ancestor’s Divine Path Imprint, but Taishang Laojun bound the task to a Space-Time Anchor that would activate when Xuan Yin reached the Grand Unity Golden Immortal realm. After seeking help from Sect Master Tongtian, Xuan Yin learned that Tongtian’s Heavenly Dao authority had grown as the Primordial True Realm’s variables increased.

  • Taishang Laojun told Xuan Yin that his Heavenly Dao Great Oath had exposed their discussion to the Dao Ancestor, then demanded that Xuan Yin erase the Divine Path Imprint.
  • Xuan Yin argued that he would wait until he reached the Three Corpses Quasi-Saint realm, but Taishang Laojun threatened to reclaim the Purple-Gold Red Gourd and set a limit of the Grand Unity Golden Immortal realm.
  • Taishang Laojun placed a Space-Time Anchor on Xuan Yin and teleported him away with Golden Winged Great Peng.
  • Xuan Yin returned to Golden Ao Island, where Sect Master Tongtian placed another Space-Time Anchor on him and promised to sense and retrieve him if needed.
  • Sect Master Tongtian explained that Gongming’s advancement and the growing number of variables had increased his authority within the Heavenly Dao beyond Taishang Laojun’s and Yuanshi’s.

Ch. 195Opening the Source of the Great Dao, Blessings Upon All Spirits

Xuan Yin persuaded Sect Master Tongtian to spread acquired Great Dao teachings as unrestricted templates, letting beings across the Primordial True Realm learn them without becoming his disciples. Tongtian’s declaration scattered inheritances throughout the realm, where they awakened new powers and even gave spiritual beings unexpected life.

  • Xuan Yin voiced his worry that Sect Master Tongtian might inherit Hongjun’s Dao fruit, and Tongtian explained why the other sages would oppose that outcome.
  • Sect Master Tongtian explained that Primordial Heavenly Venerate needed recognition from the immortals and gods to attain the immortal-god source, and Xuan Yin connected this struggle to the Investiture of the Gods tribulation.
  • Xuan Yin proposed making acquired Great Dao inheritances open to all as templates, and Tongtian agreed after they discussed the risks of provoking a great tribulation.
  • Sect Master Tongtian turned his acquired Great Daos and immortal cultivation arts into unrestricted templates, declared them open to every being, and called on the Heavenly Dao to witness.
  • Golden inheritance lights spread across the Primordial True Realm, inspiring True Person Yuding, Daoist Suryaprabha, Daoist Moonlight, and Suirenshi, while a Nine-Leaf Sword Grass gained sword intent.
  • The Ginseng Fruit Tree produced a child who was caught by Zhen Yuanzi, and a pill in Eight Views Palace gained spiritual intelligence and fled to Taishang Laojun.

Ch. 196Times Change, Investiture of Immortals and Gods

Xuan Yin waited for Yeming’s twelve children to be born, then used the approval of the Daos of Heaven and Earth to expand Divine Dao authority and appoint mountain gods and auxiliary deities. His appointments raised him above the Five Directional Heavenly Emperors, while the Western Sages worried that Ksitigarbha’s choice would hinder the Buddhist Sect’s plans.

  • Sect Master Tongtian spread the Acquired Great Dao throughout the Primordial True Realm, and Daoist Jieyin followed by transmitting Buddhist teachings through dreams.
  • After a hundred thousand years of uneasy peace, Yeming’s twelve Divine Embryos were born on Kun Dun Immortal Mountain, and Xuan Yin went to Buzhou Mountain to arrange divine appointments.
  • Houtu, the Earthly Dao, Sect Master Tongtian, the Heavenly Dao, and Great God Pangu approved Xuan Yin’s plan to restore the Primordial True Realm’s Yinyang and Five Elements origins.
  • Xuan Yin appointed Golden Winged Great Peng and Kong Xuan to govern Yinyang and Five Elements, then named Ksitigarbha and True Person Huang Long mountain gods and appointed the Ten Heavenly Stems and Twelve Years Old.
  • Huan Shu Niu accepted that the Five Directional Heavenly Emperors had fallen beneath Xuan Yin in rank, while Zhi Guang Ji and Chi Xiao Nu protested.
  • Daoist Jieyin and Daoist Zhunti were shocked that Ksitigarbha had become the Mount Sumeru Mountain God without consulting them, and worried that no one could replace him in fulfilling the Buddhist Sect’s Great Vow.

Ch. 197Enigmatic Reward Body, Greatly Awakened Golden Immortal

Xuan Yin severed an Incarnation named Xuan Zang, who vowed to deliver the dead and became a Great Enlightened Golden Immortal of the Buddhist Sect. Xuan Yin absorbed the Incarnation’s insights, advanced his own Buddhist cultivation, and faced a Grand Unity Heavenly Tribulation that his Luotian Auspicious Clouds absorbed.

  • Xuan Yin used the Purple-Gold Red Gourd and his Divine Dao status to sever an Incarnation, then named him Xuan Zang.
  • Xuan Zang vowed to the Earthly Dao to deliver vengeful spirits and fierce ghosts, and Houtu granted his request as the Heavenly Dao bestowed merit.
  • Xuan Zang attained the Great Enlightened Golden Immortal realm, began delivering departed souls from Bozhong Mountain, and wore a kesa after looking at Jingnaluo.
  • Daoist Jieyin accepted Xuan Zang’s vow in place of Ksitigarbha and sent Maitreya to invite him to the Garden of Solitude.
  • Xuan Yin received Xuan Zang’s Buddhist insights, formed a Great Enlightened Golden Immortal Dao Fruit, and mastered Buddhist supernatural powers.
  • Xuan Yin’s Grand Unity Heavenly Tribulation struck, but the Luotian Auspicious Clouds absorbed all seventy-two lightning tribulations as his body and comprehension transformed.

Ch. 198Maitreya’s Birth, the Three Assemblies of the Dragon Flower

After Xuan Yin broke through to Great Enlightened Golden Immortal, he discussed multiple cultivation systems with Kong Xuan and Golden Winged Great Peng. Daoist Maitreya enfeoffed Xuan Zang as a Great Bodhisattva, and Xuan Yin discovered that Maitreya carried Innate Ren Water Origin, leading him to suspect Mosquito Daoist had allied with the Two Sages of the West and consider informing Haotian.

  • Xuan Yin explained the differences between Great Enlightened Golden Immortals and Grand Unity Golden Immortals, and urged Kong Xuan to consider cultivating the Buddhist Dao.
  • Kong Xuan considered Xuan Yin's advice, while Golden Winged Great Peng grew interested in cultivating multiple systems and creating alternate identities.
  • Daoist Maitreya delivered Daoist Jieyin's decree, enfeoffing Xuan Zang as a Great Bodhisattva, and Xuan Zang promised not to interfere in the Buddhist Sect's affairs.
  • Maitreya invited Xuan Zang to visit the Garden of Solitude after he finished delivering the vengeful spirits and fierce ghosts in the Netherworld Underworld.
  • Xuan Zang sensed Innate Ren Water Origin on Maitreya and informed Xuan Yin, who concluded that Mosquito Daoist had likely supplied it and considered revealing her connection to the Two Sages of the West to Haotian.

Ch. 199Shakyamuni in the Garden of Solitude

Xuan Yin entered the Garden of Solitude, where he learned that its Great Enlightened Golden Immortals could contend to become Shakyamuni, and listened to Amitabha preach. As a surge of demonic qi disrupted the assembly, a voice threatened to corrupt Shakyamuni’s Dharma and turn the gathered Buddhas into Demon Children.

  • Xuan Yin decided to reveal the Mosquito Daoist’s role in the Primordial Peach Root’s decline only through someone else, then headed for the Garden of Solitude.
  • Shakyamuni welcomed Xuan Yin, and the Buddhas identified him as Bodhisattva King Xuan Zang.
  • Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva and Bodhisattva Marici explained that the Garden’s Great Enlightened Golden Immortals were candidates to become Shakyamuni by defeating him in debate.
  • Luohu urged Xuan Yin to destroy Shakyamuni’s Buddha Heart, but Xuan Yin ignored him and learned that Shakyamuni was Amitabha’s Good Corpse.
  • As Xuan Yin listened to Amitabha preach, demonic qi invaded the Garden and a voice threatened to corrupt Shakyamuni’s teachings and make the gathered Buddhas its Demon Children.

Ch. 200All United as One, the Great Sage’s Successor

The Greed Heavenly Demon King invaded the Garden of Solitude, and Xuan Yin recognized the attack as an Illusionary Dream trial. United with the Victorious Fighting Buddha, he witnessed the Great Sage’s bleak future and his decision to lead the monkeys on a new path before Dao Integration severed their connection, leaving the Buddhas to face the demon alone.

  • The Greed Heavenly Demon King flooded the Garden of Solitude with demonic qi, corrupting many Buddhas and turning Shakyamuni into a stone statue.
  • Xuan Yin realized the apparent Buddhist collapse was an Illusionary Dream trial, while the Victorious Fighting Buddha rallied the resisting Buddhas against the demon.
  • Xuan Yin joined the United as One connection and experienced the Victorious Fighting Buddha’s memories of the demonic calamity and his later struggle against corruption in Heaven and Flower-Fruit Mountain.
  • The Great Sage chose to lead willing monkeys on a new journey and taught them the Seventy-Two Transformations, Heaven and Earth Manifestation, External Incarnation, and the Body Fixing Method.
  • The Great Sage’s Dao Injury forced him into the Calamity of Self-Loss, severing the United as One connection and leaving the Buddhas without a leader as the Greed Heavenly Demon King demanded their surrender.

Ch. 201Bending Low and Keeping to One’s Place, Awaiting Heaven’s Timing

Xuan Yin recognized the demonic assault on the Garden of Solitude as a test and escaped with several fellow Buddhists rather than fight a hopeless battle. After the illusion ended, Shakyamuni rewarded him with a Merit Golden Lotus Seed, whose significance left Xuan Yin wondering what the Two Sages of the West intended.

  • Xuan Yin realized that the demonic tribulation was a trial and decided to preserve himself instead of resisting the Greed Heavenly Demon King head-on.
  • Xuan Yin struck at the Greed Heavenly Demon King to buy time, then used the Movement Character Secret to escape the Garden of Solitude with several Buddhas, including Bodhisattva Marici, Ksitigarbha, and Mahasthamaprapta.
  • Daoist Jieyin and Daoist Zhunti praised Xuan Yin's judgment, considered converting him, and then ended the dream that had drawn the Great Enlightened Golden Immortals into the trial.
  • Shakyamuni explained the tribulation and its potential benefits, then awarded Xuan Yin a Merit Golden Lotus Seed for his actions.
  • Bodhisattva Marici told Xuan Yin that the seed marked him as a possible future Buddha Ancestor, and Xuan Yin wondered what the Two Sages of the West were planning.
