You Bet—I Bought a Whole Lot

Seeing that Jiang Weiwei and Su Xiaorui did not believe him, Lin Hao simply stopped pretending. "I'm here to turn in the mission. Uncle Lin promised that if I completed it, you'd give me an extra 500 points." As he spoke, Lin Hao took out twenty Silver-grade beast cores and five Gold-grade beast cores from his Storage Space.

Seeing that Lin Hao had truly completed the mission, Jiang Weiwei breathed a sigh of relief. Just then, Beauty Su spoke again. "Lin Hao, you didn't buy these beast cores, did you?" Her expression screamed disbelief.

Lin Hao shot Su Xiaorui a teasing glance. Then, without changing expression, he began taking beast cores out of his Storage Space. "You bet, I bought a whole lot. Want a few, Beauty Su?"

As they watched the Silver-grade beast cores pile up into a small mountain, Jiang Weiwei and Su Xiaorui stood there, utterly dumbfounded. After a long while, Su Xiaorui said shakily, "Brother Lin Hao, you didn't slaughter the entire Fierce Beast Forest clean, did you? H-How many are there?"

"Not many. Just over seven hundred. If I hadn't come back to turn in the mission, I could've gathered even more."

"Over seven hundred?" Su Xiaorui no longer wanted to speak. Damn, did you just liberate the Fierce Beast Forest? Then her eyes darted around. "Brother Lin Hao, you can't use all these beast cores anyway. Why not give your sister some? I don't want much—just two hundred."

Lin Hao stared at Su Xiaorui with wide eyes, looking utterly incredulous. "I'm saying, Beauty Su, you just pressed your lips together and asked for two hundred. Where could there possibly be such a good deal?"

Seeing that Lin Hao would not agree, Su Xiaorui's eyes shifted again. "Don't say that yet. I can tell you a little secret about Weiwei. That trade works, right?"

"Xiao Rui!!!" Jiang Weiwei instantly bristled like an enraged kitten.

Lin Hao immediately gave a sly grin. "Ahem, deal!"

Hearing Lin Hao's words, both girls froze. Jiang Weiwei's face turned so red that she wished she could find a crack in the ground to crawl into. Su Xiaorui, meanwhile, was thrilled. "See? I told you Brother Lin Hao is interested in my Weiwei." Then she broke into giggles.

Lin Hao ignored her little self-directed performance and put away the beast cores scattered across the floor. "Tell me whenever you want, and I'll give them to you whenever you do!" He even tossed Su Xiaorui a flirtatious wink before bolting out of the Office.

When Su Xiaorui came back to her senses, she realized Lin Hao had fooled her again. She was so furious that smoke nearly poured from all seven of her orifices.

Back in the dormitory, just as Lin Hao was about to enter cultivation, his phone rang. Looking closely, he saw it was Fang Yao calling. He answered at once, and the moment the call connected, an ethereal voice came through.

"Idiot, we haven't seen each other for over two months. Did you miss me?"

Hearing Fang Yao's voice, Lin Hao felt warmth rise in his heart. "Of course I did. Have you been well these past two months?"

Hearing Lin Hao's voice, Fang Yao also felt warmth in her heart. Then she said resentfully, "My dad gives me special training every day. I'm either training or in seclusion every day. I'm exhausted."

"Same here. Our school's military training just ended too."

"Idiot, I have a week off soon. I'll come see you."

"Sure. I was planning to rest for a few days and go home to see my family anyway. Why don't you come back with me?"

At the thought of going to Lin Hao's home, Fang Yao's little face instantly flushed red. Are we meeting the parents this soon? I'm not ready yet.

Jiang Weiwei, however, looked deeply embarrassed. The next morning, Lin Hao packed his things. Fang Yao's flight would arrive in the afternoon, so he was in no rush. But just as he was about to leave, he ran into that Female Devil, Su Xiaorui, again.

"Brother Lin Hao, I heard from Weiwei that you're going home today. I came to see you off. Also, thank you for the beast cores."

"Why would we go when Lin Hao is going home? Besides, I still have a mountain of things to deal with here. Rui Rui, stop fooling around."

Seeing Jiang Weiwei refuse, Su Xiaorui had no choice but to drop it.

Inside the combat conference room of the Xia Kingdom Military District Commander-in-Chief Headquarters, thirteen people sat in the room. Every one of them was at least Demigod rank. The man at the head of the table stood tall and handsome, draped in a specially made trench coat. He was Xia Kingdom's strongest fighter, the Legendary rank Han Feng. The other twelve seated figures were the Commanders-in-Chief of the four major military districts and the Eight Fortresses. They were listening to reports from their subordinates.

"Report! Azure Dragon Fortress's supplies have arrived at the front lines. We can launch the attack at any time."

"Report! White Tiger Fortress's supplies have arrived at the front lines. We can launch the attack at any time."

"Report! Vermilion Bird Fortress's supplies have arrived at the front lines. We can launch the attack at any time."

"Report! Black Tortoise Fortress's supplies have arrived at the front lines. We can launch the attack at any time."

"Report..."

After hearing the reports from the adjutants, Han Feng said, "This assault against the Fierce Beasts is the first counteroffensive Xia Kingdom has launched against them in a hundred years.
