After Lin Hao's explanation, everyone suddenly understood. Two seconds was merely a blink in an ordinary person's eyes, but to a martial artist, that instant was enough time to do a great many things.
"Holy shit, what kind of freak ability is that."
"Manipulating time and space—doesn't that make her invincible?"
Everyone stared at Lin Hao in disbelief. He'd only taken two hits from Liu Qingmeng and already deduced all that.
Duan Yue now shook his head with a bitter smile. "To be fair, I'm not as good as him. This guy's ability to analyze an opponent's strength is too strong. If it were me, I'd probably have been eliminated already."
And Fang Wei, acting as the referee, was practically itching to snatch Lin Hao away right then. "This kid's got a sharp mind."
By now, Liu Qingmeng had lost her earlier calm and carefree demeanor. "Heh, I really didn't expect you to figure out my ability in such a short time. But so what? You still have to face defeat."
Now it was Lin Hao who looked relaxed and unruffled. He thrust his Thunder Prison Sky Splitting Spear into the ground, then provocatively curled his finger. "You can try."
Liu Qingmeng frowned deeply. She really didn't believe Lin Hao had completely seen through her. With a flicker, she vanished from where she stood.
The situation was no longer one-sided. Lin Hao could predict Liu Qingmeng's attacks almost every time now, and he rarely got hit anymore. They exchanged dozens more rounds, during which Liu Qingmeng flickered away more than ten times. Lin Hao blocked nearly all of her strikes.
After those dozens of rounds, Liu Qingmeng retreated out of combat range and stared at Lin Hao in shock. Lin Hao knew what she was surprised about and didn't wait for her to ask before explaining on his own: "Don't be surprised. Everyone has habits in their fighting style. Every time you flicker away, I just need to judge how you'll attack in the next two seconds."
The crowd below was utterly stunned. Lin Hao had familiarized himself with Liu Qingmeng's fighting style in such a short time.
Hearing this, Liu Qingmeng gave a bitter smile. "I never thought my proud fighting style would be broken so easily by you. Lin Hao, you're really impressive." Without waiting for his reply, a blinding white light flared around Liu Qingmeng, forcing everyone present to shut their eyes. But Lin Hao saw everything clearly. He stood there dumbfounded, blood instantly spurting from his nose.
When the white light faded, Liu Qingmeng had changed into a tight-fitting outfit. "Sigh, wearing a skirt really hinders combat," she muttered to herself, then noticed Lin Hao staring blankly with a nosebleed. She immediately realized that he must have seen everything while she changed. Her face flushed with shame and anger.
"What did you see?" Liu Qingmeng asked, her cheeks reddening. Snapped out of his daze by her question, Lin Hao replied, "Ahem, nothing. I didn't mean to."
Hearing his explanation, Liu Qingmeng knew full well that this idiot had seen her naked.
The Shancheng Martial University team members were all confused.
"Bro Lin, why is his nose bleeding?"
"Probably from those hits earlier."
Forcing down her shame and fury, Liu Qingmeng said, "Lin Hao, let's see how you block this move of mine." She flickered and vanished again. But unlike what the audience expected, this time Lin Hao couldn't parry her attacks. Over a dozen rounds, Liu Qingmeng pummeled him mercilessly—seemingly, most likely, probably, getting revenge for what just happened.
Lin Hao was now covered in injuries, completely bewildered as he endured Liu Qingmeng's ruthless beating.
After more than ten rounds, Lin Hao collapsed again. Just as everyone thought he had lost, a cheeky voice rang out: "Damn, that hurts like hell. I just looked at you a few times. Was that really worth this kind of payback?"
Lin Hao muttered under his breath, but Liu Qingmeng could hear him perfectly. What surprised her was how tough Lin Hao was.
Lin Hao struggled to his feet. "Heh, this young master still came out ahead."
Hearing his taunt, Liu Qingmeng's face flushed red with rage. She flickered and vanished again. This time, Lin Hao caught her pale, fair fist and even gave it a rather rogue-ish squeeze. "Qingmeng, I told you, I didn't take those hits for nothing. Why don't you believe me?"
Liu Qingmeng was fuming. "You lecher! Who are you calling Qingmeng?"
Watching from below, Su Xiaorui felt a strange sense of déjà vu.
Lin Hao didn't argue with her. He let go and calmly uttered a few words: "Time Acceleration, Time Rewind!"
Hearing this, Liu Qingmeng's heart jolted in alarm. She suddenly felt as if she were standing naked in front of Lin Hao. (And she had been, just moments ago.)
Lin Hao gave a faint smile. "Looks like I guessed right. So now, is it my turn to attack?"
Liu Qingmeng suddenly calmed down. "No, I can't let this lecher rattle me. I need to finish this match quickly."
She let out a cold laugh. "Lin the pervert, do you think I'll give you that chance?"
Lin Hao's face darkened. You're the pervert. Your whole family are perverts.
Before Lin Hao could react, a brilliant light burst from Liu Qingmeng's hand. Martial Art: Space Lockdown activated. Lin Hao—no, not just Lin Hao, but the entire arena—was sealed off by Liu Qingmeng. Lin Hao stood in the center of the platform, completely immobilized.
Jiang Tianhai and Fang Wei's expressions were priceless. This little girl's Space Lockdown actually contained Law Power. Both of them shook their heads bitterly. Lin Hao was thoroughly defeated now. In Liu Qingmeng's space, he was like a lamb waiting for slaughter. And it wasn't over yet. Liu Qingmeng clenched her fist, and a surge of Spiritual Power shot into the locked-down area. Martial Art: Space Strangling activated.
Lin Hao couldn't move a muscle, and the Space Strangling ability made him feel as if he were being sliced apart. He tried to activate his Thunder Armor to protect himself, but in Liu Qingmeng's space, it was instantly shredded to nothing. Gripping his Thunder Prison Sky Splitting Spear tightly, he erupted with Triple Spear Intent, barely managing to resist the binding force of space.
"This won't work. If I drag this out any longer, I'll probably lose. After fighting this hard, how can I give up?" Lin Hao felt deeply frustrated. He had thought his victory in the Hundred Schools League was all but certain. He never expected to face such a freakish monster in the finals, pushing him to the brink.
Down below, Jiang Weiwei and the others watched Lin Hao with worried expressions. His Triple Spear Intent could barely keep him from serious injury, but he couldn't do anything else.
Both Fang Wei, the referee for this match, and Jiang Tianhai on the judges' panel shook their heads ruefully. "Lin Hao's just too unlucky. Looks like this is as far as he goes."
