Chapter Summaries

Nagato ordered Itachi, Sasori, and Deidara to shift Akatsuki’s plan as Itachi’s attacks disrupted the battle. Sasuke and Naruto raced toward the forest, while the fortress battle ended with Danzo killing Jugo and refusing to send help outside.

• Nagato realized Black Zetsu could not risk saving Sasuke and ordered Itachi to draw Sasuke and Naruto away while Sasori and Deidara prepared to move.

Sasuke woke in Black Zetsu's hideout and, under Itachi's hidden Kotoamatsukami command, used Amaterasu to destroy Black Zetsu and its White Zetsu host. Itachi explained his precaution to Nagato and Kisame, who accepted that Black Zetsu was dead and the new Akatsuki remained united.
