Ch. 562571: Ian the Great Demon God 9
Ian told Dumbledore and Grindelwald that Voldemort was becoming a vessel for an ancient god and could open a passage for the beings of Deep Space. They planned to lure Voldemort out by making Dumbledore appear gravely wounded, while Ian waited in the Misty Illusion for Dumbledore’s call; Ian also gave Dumbledore hope that he would see Ariana again.
- Ian explained that Cthulhu and the Great Old Ones were undying beings beyond the material world, and revealed that he had fought Cthulhu in another timeline.
- Ian warned Dumbledore and Grindelwald that Voldemort was becoming a god’s vessel, but could not be tracked because he was hiding and knew Ian was present.
- Grindelwald proposed using Dumbledore as bait, and Ian explained that he could hide in the Misty Illusion until Dumbledore called to him through the soul, guided by the Phoenix.
- Dumbledore asked whether the Misty Illusion could let him reach Ariana, and Ian promised that they would be reunited someday.
- Grindelwald agreed to stage a betrayal and wound Dumbledore convincingly so Voldemort would believe he had an opportunity to attack.
