"Why do you think that is?"

Jon did not answer Mr. Weasley's question. Instead, he asked one of his own.

Why did he not deal with Voldemort, instead choosing to draw upon his strength at a time like this to handle matters that seemed far less important?

"I don't know."

Mr. Weasley thought for a moment, then decisively shook his head.

Over the years, he had grown accustomed to Dumbledore always making decisions that seemed ahead of their time. Before those decisions came to fruition, he could never understand why they had been made.

So, since this matter involved Dumbledore, it was probably much the same.

Rather than rack his brains and still fail to find an answer, he might as well honestly admit his ignorance and receive an explanation in return.

"All right, let me explain."

Jon himself was not entirely sure how to explain it, because Dumbledore's plans did not overlap much with his own. He could only assume that certain things were what Dumbledore had intended.

Fortunately, their original goals were the same. Only their methods differed.

"You know, Dumbledore is a great Legendary Wizard. What he thinks about is never how a group of people should live, but how an entire society should move forward. Do you know why Dumbledore did not choose to become Minister of Magic, but came to Hogwarts to become its headmaster?"

Jon did not give Mr. Weasley a chance to answer before continuing.

"That was because he believed changing the magical world through policy was very difficult, while changing it through students would be much easier.

"I admit that the method he chose was correct.

"Students are, after all, the future of the magical world. What they are like represents what the magical world's future will be like.
