Familiar Faces

Jon's social circle was not very complicated.

So any wedding he was invited to attend was bound to be a rather secretive one, yet it still needed witnesses.

"Why is this place so desolate...?"

Anthony tugged at Jon's sleeve as they stepped out of a spatial rift. It was his first time experiencing something like this, and he was still too excited to calm down.

"Because it was already desolate to begin with. You know Britain's situation. No one lives here, and it isn't a populated area, so it's a very good location."

"Good?"

"Of course. Places with fewer people are better for us to operate in, and for Wizards, this place really is ideal. There's practically no need to conceal anything."

Jon shook his head to get his bearings, then locked onto the source of magical fluctuations.

"Come on, this way."

The wedding was being held in a manor that did not look particularly large, but though small, it had everything it needed. The manor was fairly prosperous, especially for such a remote place.

Still, the wedding itself seemed rather shabby.

There were hardly any guests. Aside from Jon, most of those present were figures from portraits.

And Dumbledore.

"Good evening, Headmaster. Why hold the wedding at this hour?"

"If you want to know that, I'm afraid you'll have to ask our groom. Look, there he is."

Dumbledore raised a hand and pointed, and Jon spotted Sirius Black among the busy House-elves.

"I don't even know anything about the bride. Why haven't I heard about her before?"
