Improving soul power was a painstaking task.

Fortunately, Jon did not demand much of Laura. She only needed to be able to use magic normally to sort through a person's consciousness. For someone who was already a psychologist, this was not difficult.

Even so, the process lasted a long time.

There was no helping it. It was her first time, after all, and Jon had to take his subordinate's life into consideration.

Fortunately, it went off without a hitch.

Just as Laura's enhancement was about to conclude, Jon received another piece of good news.

His maternal grandmother had come to London.

Given that the Old Lady could stay in her own estate for years at a time, she had only left home this time because of Jon.

Jon had asked the Old Lady to meet with the Royal family's old lady—the Queen herself.

Britain's Royal family was also a wizarding family. Given their status, if they had not been wizards, they would have had no way to share the same sense of class identity as those nobles. More importantly, in even earlier times, they could never have become the Royal family if they had not been wizards.

This involved matters of power.

In the modern era, as time passed, the Royal family gradually withdrew its power from all directions. With wizarding power growing ever weaker, Muggle power was instead steadily rising.

As one declined and the other rose, they had to give up certain things.

The benefit of this sacrifice was that the British Royal family perfectly preserved its own power while throwing more of the responsibilities onto the Prime Minister.

Thus, it was not particularly unusual for Mrs. Yang to visit the Royal family and have tea with the Queen.

First, it was normal social interaction between wizards. Second,
