Inception (I)

The so-called need for help naturally meant they needed Jon's help.

Laura blinked at Jon with a pleading expression, leaving him truly helpless.

"All right, all right. I'll go in with you. Christmas just passed, and no one should be coming to see them again, but you need to hurry."

"Boss, your power is stronger, so you can keep track of the time. If we don't have enough time, just pull me out. It's not like we can only go in once."

"That works."

Jon nodded.

"But you need to control yourself. If you go in and out too many times, I suspect her soul strength might not be able to hold up."

"Don't worry, Boss. I'll control my power well. As for you..."

"I'll keep my power under control too. Expecto Patronum!"

A black Mysterious Bird sprang from Jon's fingertips. Jon pulled Laura into a warped layer of overlapping space, then transferred part of his consciousness into the Mysterious Bird's body.

"All right, it's safer here. No one will notice us. You can begin. I'll follow you in," Jon said from within the Mysterious Bird's body, though he looked rather ridiculous.

Laura did not laugh. The Mysterious Bird had no feet and could not hold onto Laura's body, so Jon had to find the energy thread Laura had drawn out... fortunately, finding such things was the Mysterious Bird's instinct.

This time was much more convenient.

Guided by the Mysterious Bird, Laura quickly found a gap in the stream-of-consciousness barrier and slipped into Mrs. Longbottom's consciousness with Jon.

The space shifted.

The black bird beside Laura twisted and changed shape, gradually taking on Jon's form.

Then he landed on the ground.
