The Potions textbook Harry was using now had originally belonged to Snape in the Original Work Jon remembered.

But the Original Work had never made clear why Snape's old Potions textbook had been left in the storage cabinet for so long.

Jon, however, knew the reason behind it.

Snape was not a careless person. He would not toss his old textbooks around, especially not one that contained his notes and spells he had created.

Jon had once seen Snape use the Sectumsempra spell. It had displayed tremendous power in Snape's hands, so there was no way a book recording something of that level would have been casually left in a cabinet anyone could open.

Jon had known about this before. Dumbledore had told Snape to leave the textbook here. Fortunately, Snape's book was still around; otherwise, they would have had to forge another one. The ultimate purpose was to make Harry gain Slughorn's favor—though Jon thought it was completely unnecessary. They could have simply explained the connection to Harry directly. There was no need to make Harry experience it personally. But Jon had no say in Harry's education. Dumbledore clearly had plans of his own.

Since Dumbledore had a plan, Jon had no intention of interfering. Besides, until he arrived here today, he had forgotten all about it. Too much time had passed, and as he grew busier, he no longer had the mind to dwell on things that had happened long ago.
