There was no need to rush to the Ministry of Magic. After all, he was not the main focus of the mission; the three children were.

So he went to Grimmauld Place first.

When he appeared at Number Twelve, Grimmauld Place, Harry had only just recovered from his panic over certain matters.

Jon knew what was troubling him. Harry had not mastered Legilimency well enough and was easily affected by Voldemort's emotions and memories. There was nothing to be done about it. As a Horcrux, he was bound to react this way.

Soon afterward, the three of them went down to the kitchen, where Kreacher served them stew and treacle tart.

The House-elf was the only one who sensed Jon's arrival, but he showed no reaction. Sirius was not truly dead, and Jon's position allowed him to order Kreacher to do certain things, especially when Harry had not ordered Kreacher to speak.

Still, Jon did not reveal himself. Once he had confirmed that they were all right, he listened to their plan.

They analyzed their operation again and again, memorizing every word of it without error, before finally returning to their rooms to sleep late at night.

Hermione found Jon in her bedroom.

"Professor, why are you here?"

Hermione was surprised to see Jon sitting in a chair in the room. He had not told her he was coming, and lately she had been constantly on edge, worried about being discovered.

"I came to check on you. How are those two youngsters doing lately?"

"I don't think they're doing very well, especially Harry. His condition is really worrying."

"This is the fate he must bear as a Horcrux. Don't rush. It will be over soon. Enduring some pain will do him good."

All right.

Hermione fell silent. She knew this
