Background / History

Lou Gao is one of the era's three great Divine Craftsmen and the President of the Blacksmith Association. Before meeting Lin Xia, he had spent years developing his forging craft and amassed seven Soul Skills, six selected specifically for blacksmithing. His lifelong pursuit is the perfection of artifact forging rather than personal combat power. 13 22 91

He accepted Lin Xia as his fifth disciple after witnessing him crush Star Essence Gold with his teeth. Though initially stunned that Lin Xia's Larvitar Martial Soul could consume ore and grow stronger, Lou Gao chose curiosity and trust over prying into his disciple's secrets. 13 14 38

For six years, Lou Gao endured extortion by Miles Garcia and his subordinates. The conflict began after Lou Gao defended a friend and nearly attacked Miles with the Diamond Chisel; Miles subsequently exploited the Blacksmith Association through fabricated fees, taking thirty percent of its profits while threatening investigations by Martial Soul Hall. 31

To protect the Association's craftsmen and their families, Lou Gao chose to seek Martial Soul Hall's protection. He sent Si Long to Martial Soul City with a confidential letter, his token, and the Association's resolution to join the Martial Soul Hall system. 33

While working with Lin Xia, Lou Gao made foundational breakthroughs in Soul Tool research. He identified the patterns within Soul Tools as a functional “language,” then developed Soul Tool Arrays based on Void Stone patterns, including Energy Storage, Power, and Connection Arrays. 48 64 65

At Norton Volcano, Lin Xia petitioned the God of Phoenix to grant Lou Gao its inheritance.
