The Sword-Backed Tiger charged into the trap, but it wasn't in a hurry. Sword Qi crisscrossed behind it, carving out Space Rifts, and the pressure eased considerably. But before it could celebrate, dense flames filled the formation, greatly eroding the Refined Gold Qi. The mountain-like pressure returned, leaving it unable to move.
That wasn't all. The Sword-Backed Tiger's legs gave way, and it sank down into the ground—it was a swamp.
But this wasn't an ordinary swamp. Ling Tian had laid out strange patterns within it that could draw on the power of the Gold Attribute Domain, then convert it into the Water Attribute. This made the swamp spread even farther, leaving the Sword-Backed Tiger with strength it couldn't put to use.
"Heh, I designed this formation just for you. It uses the principle of mutual generation to draw energy from anything caught inside and strengthen the formation. One side grows stronger as the other grows weaker, making it even harder to escape once you're trapped." Ling Tian let out a gleeful cackle, then turned away from the Sword-Backed Tiger. With a flash, he headed for the place where it had been before.
As he traveled, Ling Tian contacted Fairy Meng Shang and the other two. After the Sword-Backed Tiger had left, the three of them had gone to the cave abode, only to discover a problem: they couldn't find a way inside.
"What? You can't get in?" Ling Tian paused, his voice full of disbelief.
"We can't get in, so we can't get in. What's with that tone?" an angry voice snapped. It was Fairy Meng Shang, who was thoroughly annoyed. "If you're so capable, go in yourself. We can't get in, anyway."
"That's right, Brother Yuan. We can't get in." Su Ying's voice came through, tinged with helplessness.
