Lian Yue was a Nine-Colored Ice Lotus and had a natural affinity for the Water Attribute, so that was still the power she studied. She liked to observe water in all its forms: streams, lakes, oceans, even rain and puddles. She watched them herself, studying the different ways water moved through each and the forms it took.
Of the Five Elements, none had more forms than water. It could exist as liquid, freeze into ice, gather as frost, turn to mist, fall as snow, and more. Each form had its own distinct traits and uses: water's gentleness, ice's bone-deep hardness, frost's biting chill, mist's eerie nature, snow's lightness. Each was different.
Lian Yue had known all this before. But only by walking through streams and across glaciers, by immersing herself in thick fog and personally experiencing how water manifested in its different forms, could she understand its nature more clearly.
