Even without deliberately sensing the surrounding energy, Ling Tian could feel it automatically entering his body and being devoured. This sensation was becoming increasingly apparent, as if his body were a black hole, consuming all the energy around him.
"Tch, look at me, I'm so stupid. Don't I have Spiritual Sense now? I can perform internal scans, so naturally, I can check my body's condition," Ling Tian cursed himself inwardly. However, it wasn't entirely his fault. He had just developed Spiritual Sense before rushing off to Qingdie Peak to find Hua Min'er, so he had forgotten about it. With that, he began his internal scan.
"Huh? What's going on?" As soon as his Spiritual Sense began its scan, Ling Tian noticed something within his body.
Within Ling Tian's body, or more accurately, his meridians, a milky white energy, brimming with vitality, similar to the chaotic energy produced by the intertwining of the Jade Flute and Guqin, had solidified. It was tightly blocking his meridians. Furthermore, this energy was more refined, vast, and profound than the gaseous energy produced by the Jade Flute and Guqin. It seemed to be a condensed and compressed form of that gaseous energy.
Strangely, his body was slowly refining this energy everywhere, which then gathered in his meridians as if being devoured and assimilated. Even the energy particles around his body were being consumed. Although the chaotic energy in his meridians was constantly devouring energy, it didn't seem to increase at all, like a bottomless pit.
"What kind of energy is this? It feels so powerful, yet so gentle and comfortable. It's similar to the feeling when my body automatically healed after being injured from cultivation. It must be this energy at work," Ling Tian said uncertainly.
Ling Tian had often injured himself while running or chasing Swift Shadow Rabbits, but after a night's sleep, these injuries would heal automatically. Now, this healing was even more pronounced; wounds would close at a visibly rapid rate. The sensation of healing was very similar to this energy, and it could even eliminate his fatigue.
"Where did this energy come from? Could it be from the intertwining and convergence of my parents' Natal Dan Artifacts?" The parents Ling Tian referred to here were not Lingyun and his wife, but rather Yuan Hao and Mo Yue from the Immortal Realm. Thinking of them, his eyes gazed at the sky as if trying to pierce through it, a wave of longing washing over him.
"Is this your doing? Does this energy have something to do with you two?" Ling Tian internally scanned the Guqin and Jade Flute spinning restlessly above his Dantian, murmuring to himself.
He hadn't opened up his Qi Sea yet, only possessing a Dantian, and the Guqin and Jade Flute were circling above it.
As if understanding Ling Tian's words, the Guqin and Jade Flute nodded gently like children, then let out a series of soft hums, tinged with a sense of joy and excitement.
"Hmph, hmph, it really is you two. Do you know you've caused me so much trouble?" Ling Tian's face was full of grievance, his lips pouting high.
The Guqin and Jade Flute trembled slightly, as if trying to explain something. A deep sense of grievance emanated from them, even more so than Ling Tian's. Even the air around Ling Tian seemed to be imbued with this emotion, filled with a sense of being wronged and misunderstood.
"Hmph, hmph, you're still feeling wronged? You've made me unable to cultivate Spiritual Energy, and everyone calls me a waste." Ling Tian knew that without the Guqin and Jade Flute, he would have likely died long ago. However, after being unable to cultivate Spiritual Energy for so long, the grievances and dejection in his heart had accumulated, and with no one else to vent to, he could only pour them out to the Guqin and Jade Flute.
"Zheng!" "Wuu!"
The Guqin and Jade Flute let out a series of mournful hums, like angry children, showing a clear tendency to rush out of Ling Tian's body and argue with him if things didn't go their way.
"Alright, alright, don't be angry. I know it's not your fault, and you've protected me so many times. I shouldn't be ungrateful. I'm sorry, but I was just in a bad mood. Forgive me!" Ling Tian was startled when he saw them about to rush out. If outsiders saw this, the world would likely be thrown into chaos. He couldn't help but recall the commotion he caused when he first descended to the Lower Realm. Who knew if someone from this corner of the Five Elements Domain would try to snatch them away?
Upon hearing Ling Tian's apology, the Guqin and Jade Flute understood his plight. As if realizing Ling Tian was merely venting his frustrations, they didn't hold it against him. They hummed contentedly a few times, truly having the disposition of children.
"Um, do you know if this situation can be resolved?" Ling Tian didn't hold much hope for this question, merely asking casually.
To Ling Tian's immense surprise, the Guqin and Jade Flute nodded a few times, their meaning very affirmative.
"It can be resolved!! You know?! How can it be resolved?!" Ling Tian was ecstatic, bombarding them with questions. His expression was filled with extreme anxiety and anticipation.
However, even faster than Ling Tian's questions, the Guqin and Jade Flute immediately shook their heads a few times, clearly indicating they either didn't know how to resolve it or couldn't with their current abilities.
"You don't know how to resolve it? Then you said it could be resolved. You two big bosses, aren't you toying with me?" Ling Tian said with great disappointment and a hint of resentment.
Hearing Ling Tian's words, the Guqin and Jade Flute nodded cheerfully, appearing very happy and smug, as if retaliating for Ling Tian's earlier accusation.
"Sigh, I wonder when the problem with my meridians will be resolved?" Ling Tian sighed deeply, a sense of apathy washing over him.
"Perhaps it's because my abilities are not yet sufficient. It will naturally be resolved when the time comes," Ling Tian muttered to himself, trying to console himself.
To Ling Tian's astonishment, the Guqin and Jade Flute actually echoed his sentiment with a few gentle nods.
"Heh, since it can't be resolved now, let's not think about it. I should go learn formations from Father," Ling Tian said with a light laugh, his dejected expression vanishing.
With that, Ling Tian's figure flickered as he went to find Lingyun.
"Father, I..." Ling Tian began as soon as he saw his father, his expression anxious.
Lingyun waved his hand, interrupting him. Seeing Ling Tian's expression calm down a bit, he said slowly, "You're finally here. Speak, do you want to learn formations?"
"Huh? Father, how did you know?" Ling Tian asked in surprise, but he still nodded.
"Of course, I know everything, haha." Lingyun said smugly, tossing a Storage Ring to Ling Tian as he spoke.
Ling Tian took the ring and asked, "Father, what's inside?"
"Some Jade Slips, containing explanations of formations, some of my insights and experiences over the years, and some materials for setting up formations," Lingyun replied calmly and unhurriedly.
"Oh, I see." Seeing his father finish speaking, Ling Tian didn't leave but stared fixedly at Lingyun.
"Is there something else?" Lingyun was taken aback, asking with some confusion.
"Doesn't Father know everything?" A barely perceptible mischievous glint flashed in Ling Tian's eyes.
"I, I... You little brat, you dare to tease me, don't you?" Lingyun stammered at first, his face filled with embarrassment. But seeing Ling Tian's increasingly obvious mischievous smile, he became enraged, losing the calm demeanor he had earlier.
"Hahaha!" Ling Tian burst into triumphant laughter. It was truly rare to see his father flustered.
"Tell me, what else is there? You brat, you're getting naughtier," Lingyun said, his old face blushing, but he straightened his robes and pretended to be composed.
"Isn't it from learning from you?" Ling Tian mumbled softly, but he didn't dare let Lingyun hear. Then he raised his voice and said, "Father, I want to ask, I can't fly, but is there any way to deal with people who can fly?"
"Oh, so that's it. Let me ask you, can you catch the birds flying in the courtyard?" Lingyun asked back instead of answering Ling Tian's question.
"I can't fly yet, so naturally, I can't catch them," Ling Tian replied truthfully, though he found the question a bit strange.
"Even a few-year-old child in the countryside can catch them. You've been cultivating with me for so many years. Are you saying you're not even as good as a child who doesn't cultivate?" Lingyun teased him slightly, clearly seeking revenge for Ling Tian's earlier mockery.
"Even children can? That's incredible! Do they know how to fly at such a young age?" Ling Tian was astonished, finding it unbelievable. He didn't even notice Lingyun's teasing.
"Heh, why don't you go out and see for yourself? You've been staying on the mountain all day. It's a good opportunity to go out and experience the world. The outside world is wonderful," Lingyun said with a mysterious smile, trying to persuade Ling Tian to go down the mountain.
"Okay, Father, are you coming with me?" Ling Tian knew his father had a deeper reason for suggesting he go down the mountain, so he agreed. He was just curious if his father would accompany him, so he asked.
"I still have some things to attend to, so I won't be going. You go alone. Hehe, you're not afraid to go by yourself, are you?" Lingyun couldn't help but tease Ling Tian.
"That's not it. It's just that I don't know where any small villages are," Ling Tian said. He had spent a long time alone in the mountains of Qingyou Peak, so he wasn't afraid.
"That's no problem. Once you leave Qingyou Peak and head east for about a hundred miles, you'll be out of Qingyun Mountain. There are bound to be villages and farms there." Lingyun explained patiently.
"Mm, I understand, Father." Ling Tian was just a child and naturally wanted to see the outside world. As he spoke, he couldn't help but start imagining what the outside world would be like.
"Squeak squeak!" Just then, Humei hopped in from outside, seemingly having overheard their conversation. She squeaked at the two of them.
"Heh heh, you want to go out for a walk too? It must have been tough on you, given your personality, to stay on Qingyou Peak for so long. Alright, you can go with Tian'er." Lingyun knew Humei was also playful and active by nature. He couldn't help but feel a bit apologetic as he looked at Humei and said gently.
Humei squeaked a few times and hopped onto Ling Tian's shoulder, cheering excitedly.
"Father, I need to go to Qingyun Peak in three days, so I need to leave now. The sooner I go, the sooner I'll be back, so I don't miss my appointment." Lingyun's face flushed slightly, but moments later, his heart filled with tenderness. He straightened his expression and said to Lingyun.
"Three days later? Qingyun Peak? Genius?" Lingyun muttered these words, and suddenly his eyes lit up. He looked at Ling Tian with a hint of inquiry, as if he had understood something.
Ling Tian nodded gently, confirming Lingyun's thoughts.
"Alright, go ahead. It's not that far. Just play for a couple of days and come back. Mei'er, don't get too carried away with playing." The first half of the sentence was for Ling Tian, while the latter half was directed at Humei, with a teasing tone.
"Squeak squeak!" Humei let out a few soft squeaks, tinged with shyness. She looked at Lingyun with a mix of playful annoyance, showing half allure and half bashfulness.
"Haha, go on, go on. Come back soon." Lingyun laughed heartily.
Ling Tian took Humei and flew away. His movements were swift and silent, not stirring up a speck of dust, clearly indicating that Ling Tian had already gained some insight and mastery in his movement techniques.
