When he arrived on the sixth level of the Haotian Tower, Ling Tian saw that Fairy Meng Shang and the others weren't nearby. His brows furrowed as he worried they might have fallen into an encirclement by Chi Xue and the others. He decided to go find them as soon as the trial began. Only then would he be able to set his mind at ease.
But Sky-Breaking Bow didn't think much of it. He even chuckled to himself, thinking this was good news.
Sensing Ling Tian's confusion, he didn't explain. Instead, he asked directly, "Ling Tian, if you ran into people from another realm right now, would you attack them?"
Ling Tian was taken aback, but quickly understood what Sky-Breaking Bow meant. After a brief pause, a smile appeared at the corner of his mouth. "Exactly. Even if I ran into Chi Xue and the others, I wouldn't attack them without reason. Even if I defeated them, I'd be badly drained, which would let others reap the benefits. The only exception would be if I could eliminate everyone who had a chance of obtaining the Haotian Tower, but that's simply impossible."
"So, if Chi Xue and the others aren't fools, they definitely won't attack your people," Sky-Breaking Bow said, then changed tack. "Of course, if they are fools, that's another matter. But if they really do attack, it'll be good news for you, too. With Meng Shang's strength, she might be able to eliminate them. At the very least, she'll wear them down considerably, which will improve your chances of obtaining the Haotian Tower."
